Everyone glorifies trading like you just start hitting it big one day and that’s it
No one talks about the hustle it takes to get to where you have the capital or cushion to trade
I hustled 2-4 income sources for over a decade before I went full time trading
Even before trading I was always trying to better myself and earn more - work ethic follows you where you go
I never had a fancy corporate job, stock packages, a big inheritance or sold a business
I busted my fucking ass for years saving, building capital
One of the things I’m most proud of is even after turning profitable, I stayed and worked for my father trying to help get him closer to retirement without having to pay for more help - I even had people make fun of me for this in my old community bc I wasn’t “full time” - I didn’t care
I blew a years salary figuring out how to trade, it took me 2-2.5 years before I got to the point where I could make some money and finally hang on to it - no one wants to hear that part that it could take years of hard work and commitment
Everyone seems to think they’re going to open a brokerage, join a community, buy a data service and should be consistently making money in a month or two
No one realizes the demons that you bring to surface when beginning to interact with the market
If a $10-$99 monthly fee for data, info, community, whatever it may be to aid you is killing you to make ends meet. Take a step back, MAKE more money, passively invest. Research, read, study and learn more before trying to time the markets and put hard earned capital to work. Get to a more comfortable point.
There will always be a risk in the markets, take it or don’t. But don’t expect it to come easy if this is the route you choose.
Wishing you all the best 🍻
The good thing about trading?
Even if you never become profitable, you still go on the deepest spiritual journey of your life.
You start wanting money…
you end up discovering:
Your ego issues
Your impulse control problems
Your fear of uncertainty
Your need to be right
You came for profits.
You got forced into self-awareness.
Trading really said:
“Oh you want money? Cool. First fix your entire personality.”
It’s the only industry where before paying you…
it turns you into a better human first
This is what “rich” looks like
I wake up everyday feeling like I hit the lotto.
Not when I’m up on a trade or when I drive one of my cars, but in quiet moments like this.
Just a few years ago, I was facing prison time.
Broke.
Delivering food on DoorDash to scrape together a few hundred bucks to fund my trading account.
We shared a one-bedroom apartment with $500 to our name after bills.
The journey from there to here wasn’t overnight.
It wasn’t glamorous.
It was a grind that broke me down before it built me up…but it made me the man I am today.
Yes, I have the cars and watches now that people associate with success. But I can tell you with absolute certainty…they don’t compare to this. Building a life with someone who believed in you when nobody else did and winning the game of life
Trading changed my financial situation, but gratitude changed my life.
If you’re reading this and still in the grind, just keep pushing.
I know it may seem like it will never work, but it will.
You have to believe that.
You have to be thankful for every little thing because without the bad there is no good.
Without the bad you become weak.
The most important thing is to remember what you’re working towards and make sure there is real meaning behind it.
There’s nothing wrong with cars or a lavish lifestyle…
But the only way you’ll have the hunger to get it and sustain it long term…
Is by having a higher purpose that you constantly remind yourself of.
Absorption Part II
In the last video / thread we covered the mechanics of what’s happening when absorption is occurring. The DOM was used to help visualize what is happening “under the hood”.
But, do you need a DOM to find absorption?
Nope. 🧵
Many traders think a good trading day is a positive day. Wrong.
A good trading day is a day that you were disciplined, traded sound strategies and did not violate any trading rules.
When I was a young rich trader the older guys told me to invest smartly in things with intrinsic value. Pay cash for your homes or carry small mortgages. Max out retirement accounts & don’t touch them. Most importantly-life below your means. Relationships change, business will change, people get sick & die including us. When those things happen we will always be OK as long as we did the right thing. Plan for the storms because they do in fact come. God bless you all with Love, good health, peace & long term prosperity.
Formal education can make you a living
But self education will make you a fortune
College doesn't teach you how to get rich
To be financially free
Live life on your own terms
They want workers
To become filthy rich you must think outside the box
DO NOT focus on making money
You will repel it with your desperation
Focus on simply making good trades
Focus on following the plan
Focus on being disciplined
Just focus on executing as you should
That money will take care of itself
It's a byproduct of being disciplined
Be obsessed with following your plan
Obsessed with being disciplined
With being patient
Obsessed with progress
Obsessed with learning
Fuck the money
Money is simply a byproduct of making the correct decisions
No need to focus on it just do what you should do
EXAMPLE TRADE WRITEUP - $NVAX
(AND RANT)
What does it mean when Bella and I harp on about elite traders’ attention to detail?
It means dissecting the nuances of the intraday, the level 2 box, the daily chart. Marking up the charts. Identifying what you wanted to see vs what occurred. Reviewing the size you traded and how you traded it.
This was my old review after a decade on the job after already having made it.
Yesterday I challenged FinTwit to detail as many variables as possible for why I sold premium in weed stocks.
Response: mostly crickets 🦗
Funny how all the people saying I should be doing free real-time callouts “for learning purposes” are nowhere to be found when it comes to the tweets that require putting in the work.
Where are all the hungry young bucks on FinTwit that are doing and sharing writeups like this for the sake of improving their game!? 👀
That’s why I’m only here to teach concepts.
Individuals need to put the hard work and thinking in to understand and implement them.
It was the same way I ran an office.
I’ll give you the path and match the effort you put in, but I sure as hell ain’t carrying you up the hill.
@CWTNich gave value to me and others selflessly. Guess who LB is trying to setup w a mentor?
You get from this world, what you give.
Most people on here only looking for handouts without a single thought as to their own responsibility to add value and give back selflessly.
We need to live up, as an individual, to what our expectations of an ideal world are. The world is the aggregate of its individuals and we each are one of them. It starts w each of us.

You could be struggling for years and years facing L after L after L
But then one year can make up for all that shit you went through
One breakthrough year where it starts to click you start to connect the dots and you realize all the pain was worth it
Don't surrender 💪
There's no shortcut for thousands of hrs of screen time. You have to learn an A+ setup, but until you've seen it in all contexts: Uptrends, downtrends, chop, failed examples, successful examples and workshopped the execution, you won't max its winrate. No way to bypass hard work
Good traders are not people who are correct often who are spot on their analysis that are good at reading the market
That makes you a good chartist and nothing more
And what good is being able to read a chart well if you can't execute?
What good is that if you lack discipline?
Lack patience?
Can't handle losses drawdowns in the capital?
All that other shit is what makes a trader a good trader
Not their ability to read a chart
That's why im not impressed with all these chartists on twitter with all their complicated bs analysis
When you were a kid you had a coloring book now that your grown you simply replaced it with price charts
That's all that happened
Don't skip the inner work
Surviving the early brutal early years of your trading career sets a foundation for later success.
Creating conditions to survive is vital for success, they enable you to learn, fail, try again, and repeat until a process with an edge becomes established and repeatable.
