Snaps from yesterday’s panel.
Heartfelt thank-yous to all my wonderful friends who contributed their stories.
Academic conversations about the war might not influence its course but they sure do provide a valuable outlet for all involved.

#OTD In 1874, Sir Winston Churchill was born at Blenheim Palace. Today at Blenheim you can walk through the Churchill Memorial Garden which provides a timeline of the various milestones throughout his life. ✌🏼
It’s Official ✅ Very pleased and honoured to have been awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Churchill Leadership Center. A big thank you to the NCLC for their support and I look forward to working with them over the coming year.

#OTD In 1908, Winston and Clementine Churchill were married.
Churchill once wrote to his wife; “My greatest good fortune, in a life full of brilliant experiences, has been to find you and to lead my life with you.”
Today marks the 100th Anniversary since Jennie Churchill’s death in 1921.
In this blog for @ChuArchives I reflect on Jennie’s political abilities and the influence she held over her husband’s and son’s careers.

#OTD On this day in 1935, Stanley Baldwin became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. His term in office would face many challenges, such as the rise of Hitler and the Abdication Crisis of King Edward in 1936.
#OTD 77 years ago 156,000 Allied troops landed on the shores of Normandy. D-Day, Operation Overlord, had begun. On 6th June over 11,590 Allied aircraft took part, with 5,656 of these being flown by airmen of the Royal Air Force. #DDay77
