Open Roads ABATE participated in the 1st Annual Sheridan Toilet Bowl Races July 4. Open Roads ABATE was in 2 toilet bowl races but did not place. Open Roads ABATE members who participated: Kevin Smith w/grandson Austin; John Niles, Sam Mataya, Frank Lorang, & Fred Chaffer.
Open Roads ABATE had a booth at the Sandwich Car/Bike Show on Sat, July 3. They promoted ABATE, sold beef & bike tickets. Brent Martin from Yorkville & member of Open Roads ABATE won a plaque for having the best bike at the show. Pictured is Brent Martin w/plaque & bike.
Tour Whiskey Acres Distillery, 2 pm tour, $10 per person (includes samples and shot glass). Ride as a group, meet at Plano American Legion, KSU 1 pm or ride to the distillery on your own.
Meet at Country Kitchen in Somonauk (105 W. Market/Route 34) for breakfast at 8 am. KSU 9 am. This ride will have stops in Creve Coeur, Peoria, Victoria, Kewanee, Sheffield, Wyanet, and Lacon. 7 stamps in summer book.
Ride to Middle East Conflicts Memorial Wall in Marseilles, IL. Meet at Sheridan Elevator 215 N Robinson in Sheridan at 9 am. Have breakfast (cash only) & KSU at 11 am. Guest speaker at the Wall at noon. Please join us in a ride along the river with a few stops (to be determined).
Promote Open Roads ABATE and sell beef/bike raffle tickets at Memorial Day Cruise Night at Sheridan Elevator on May 29. Set up booth at 4 pm. Enter your bike/car/truck in show - $5 registration fee.
Open Roads ABATE is setting up a tent at the Route 66 Dirty Oval during the Flat Track Races Fri, May 28 & Sat, May 29, 2 pm each day. If interested in joining us to spread the word about ABATE & the current issues affecting Motorcyclist & Off Road riders, PM Sharyl Mataya.
