Who needs an obstacle course? Nature provides varied terrain that kids love to explore and master. Yes it's risky, but that's okay as long as they are careful. Our students are careful because we teach them that they're responsible for keeping themselves safe.

The world is FULL of learning and exploration opportunities, and often they just wander right into your backyard. This little lizard found himself the subject of study when he decided to sun himself on a tree stump in the school's play area. Oh, and his name is Fred.

A regular occurrence: a room with a lot going on at once. Students engage in conversations and discussions, work on experiments, and solve problems together when given the opportunity to pursue things they find meaningful.

Life learning means navigating things like buying your own lunch. This simple task helps kids learn a number of skills: communication, budgeting, arithmetic, decision-making, and problem-solving, not to mention the self-confidence they gain from navigating the world in this way.
