OP_NET is open source.
Anyone can read the code, run a node, and verify that contracts execute exactly as the protocol specifies.
The design minimizes trust assumptions beyond Bitcoin itself, which has remained continuously operational since 2009.
Every other chain optimized for speed. Bitcoin optimized for security and liquidity.
Those are the only two things DeFi actually needs to work. The SlowFi thesis explains why.
@chadmasterxbt on what makes Bitcoin the strongest foundation for decentralized finance.
We've watched the @slohmfi team spend months building the first treasury-backed reserve protocol on Bitcoin L1.
SLOHM is finally live with ~$1.8m TVL on day ONE.
DeFi on Bitcoin isn't a thesis anymore. Protocols like SLOHM make it real.
If you can write TypeScript, you can build on Bitcoin L1.
OP_NET smart contracts use AssemblyScript. Same syntax, same tooling. 148+ contracts deployed in 6 weeks by independent teams.
The infrastructure is open.
For 15 years, you couldn't earn yield on Bitcoin without leaving it.

Native yield on Bitcoin L1. Watch it in action 🐈⬛🛵
Bitcoin isn’t just digital gold anymore, it’s becoming a sovereign financial engine. ⛓️💥
@stefixy sits down with @chadmasterxbt , Co-Founder of @opnetbtc , to tear down the myths of Bitcoin programmability.
We’re diving deep into:
- Why smart contracts = MORE sovereignty, not just complexity.
- How OP_NET brings DeFi to Layer 1 without new tokens.
Stop holding. Start building. The era of productive Bitcoin is here. 🚀

We just raised over $260,000 in IBO Round 2, bringing total funds raised to over $500,000 across both rounds.
The first decentralized treasury-backed reserve protocol is coming to Bitcoin L1, powered by @opnetbtc.
Hard money deserves harder DeFi.
Motoswap x @21starter
21starter is the curated launch layer for Bitcoin-native projects. Vetted teams, real builders, a clear path to market.
Every project they back launches into the deepest native liquidity on Bitcoin L1.
Welcome to the motherchain 🐈⬛🛵
There is no OP_NET token.
OP_NET runs on Bitcoin's consensus. Same SHA-256, same rules. If someone spun up a million nodes to force a code change, it wouldn't touch the network. It would just fork off, the same way Bitcoin handles it.
Infrastructure, not a layer.
Deploying a token natively on Bitcoin L1.
No code. No bridges. A few clicks on Motoswap.
This is where the next generation of Bitcoin tokens starts 🐈⬛🛵
The OPAL token presale will be live on block 945,000 (expected in the early morning of Tuesday 14th, North American time) and until block 945,500 (Friday afternoon, expected) at
https://t.co/okJYZsXc2K
12,000,000 tokens out of a maximum supply of 100,000,000 will be available for purchase for a price of 25 sats per token. That means a hard cap of 3 BTC. Max per wallet is 1,000,000 tokens for 0.25 BTC commited.
Funds raised will be converted to USDT and bridged via the Opal bridge onto Bitcoin/OP_NET and used to pair with 8,000,000 tokens. That puts the starting trading price at roughly 37 sats per token and a market cap of roughly 530,000 USD when trading begins (calculated for BTC at 71,000 USD). For reference, the presale will be held at a market cap of roughly 350,000 USD.
Once trading begins, the Opal Mines will open on @motoswap. The Opal Mines are expected to distribute 30,000,000 tokens over approximately three months to stakers of: OPAL/opUSDT, OPAL/opWETH, MOTO/opUSDT, and MOTO/opWETH LP tokens. Also, to single-sided stakers of OPAL, opUSDT, and BTC via Motoswap's Proof-of-HODL.
Of the remaining supply, 10,000,000 are reserved for the team and future integrations. The 40,000,000 remaining are reserved for OPAL holders to decide via a yet-to-be-implemented governance structure. Possible uses include an airdrop for Opal bridge users or further liquidity farming stages.
If and when Opal bridge revenue becomes substantial, it is possible to consider a revenue-share model with OPAL holders, subject to further study of the technical and legal aspects of such a model.
With all that said, we are excited to take this step and incentivize the growth of stablecoin and other bridged assets in OP_NET. We are firm believers in SlowFi and want to contribute to the success of it, right here on Bitcoin with OP_NET. See you in block 945,000.
The Opal team.
The first NFT marketplace on OP_NET is live. 🔥
Trade OP_721 NFTs on Bitcoin L1 with full order book support — no bridges, no wrappers, just native smart contracts.
This is just the beginning. More features coming soon. Built on @opnetbtc
