We celebrated two things when we visited The Body Shop’s store on Oxford Street in London this morning.

For more than 30 years, The Body Shop has sourced shea butter from cooperatives in northern Ghana.

And in the next few months, The Body Shop will open a branch in Accra!

The British High Commissioner @ChristianRogg, accompanied by the Defence Adviser, Lt.Col Nick Wood (@woody3376 ) commissioned a new dormitory block funded by the @BPST_A for the @GhArmedForces at the Ghana Army School of Ammunition and Explosives (GASEA), Tema.  

As the British Peace Support Team closes out its operations in Africa, the project highlights the strength of the UK–Ghana defence partnership and our shared commitment to peace and security. 🇬🇧🇬🇭

The Ambassador for a Day Competition opens doors for young Ghanaian women to experience leadership up close with mentorship, shadowing and real‑world exposure that lasts all year.   
We celebrated eight young women as they met their mentors and began a personalised journey of leadership, learning and confidence‑building. Congratulations ladies!

Yesterday I was warmly hosted by The Rt Hon Yvette Cooper (MP), Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom.

Our exceptionally fruitful and substantive engagement focused on enhancing our historical and inseparable Ghana-UK relations.

We agreed on innovative pathways to increase trade which is already up by 10%, creating new markets for Ghanaian and UK businesses and how we can incubate more opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

We also discussed security cooperation and counterterrorism initiatives.

Ghana and the UK will hold a grand investment summit in May this year under the distinguished patronage of President Mahama to sustain the great gains in our revitalized relations.

Ghana and the UK are determined to solidify our strategic alliance.
