Learn the stroke for the shot, not the swing!! The dynamic strike, not club and swing geometry, controls power shot-making. The golfer's focus should be on the club and ball, not the swing and club. An audio file accompanies the graphic.

"The only purpose of the golf swing is to move the club through the ball at maximum speed. How this is done is of no significance at all, as long as the method enables it to be done repetitively." - Legendary golf teacher John Jacobs.
🏌️♂️ Once started on the 'One Stroke Method', the golfer ...."will gradually find that he is able to hit the ball high, low, draw it or fade it - ALL WITHOUT CHANGING HIS SWING." - Ben Hogan. Click link to watch my tutorial & please subscribe: https://t.co/bYin9EhGVF

@golfstrokeguru Congratulations & well done Paul! The book is an essential and refreshing read. It gives golfers a proper foundation on what matters in shot-making. The golf swing is a complicated thing. It's time to simplify it with key pre-swing elements that Ben Hogan mastered.
Clubhead Alignment with Hands for Optimal Wrist Cock and Clubhead Lag
At the end of the takeaway and the start of the upswing, the clubhead should be aligned with the hands. The alignment allows for full wrist cocking, essential for completing the backswing and generating clubhead lag.
The main purpose of the golf stroke is to deliver a solid, centred strike on every full shot.
With the entire body shifting forward, except the crown of the head, the clubhead must be extended towards the target through impact regardless of the intended shot shape or clubface orientation at impact.
A lateral move of the clubhead for a few inches starting back is an important component of the baseline golf stroke, helping to ensure a consistent, powerful, and reliable on-target strike delivery.
The update of my eBook on Amazon has links to 13 videos explaining the fundamentals of Mr Hogan's universal baseline stroke and demonstrating how they are applied to the golf shot. Please download it or DM me for a PDF version. https://t.co/RM88uy5Td4
I am delighted that my new eBook, Ben Hogan's Universal Golf Stroke, endorsed by major champion Steve Elkington, is on Amazon. It emphasizes the essence of the golf shot, the stroke, not the swing.

Ben Hogan pioneered the universal golf swing, which is unchanged for every full shot, regardless of its shape or trajectory. Its secret is the twirl or angular impulse he incorporated into the swing starting down to drive the forward stroke through impact onto the target line.
With a 1-piece takeaway, the swing has to be looped from inside to square to flatten the lie angle. Vardon's and Hogan's 3-piece takeaway (club/arms/hips) is more efficient, widening the swing arc and looping it from rear to forward.
