China has banned any Chinese cooperation with The Responsible Business Alliance which certifies ethical sourcing in retaliation for their complicity in the Uighur ‘slavery’ fraud. Western businesses that relied on certification, whether imposed by regulation or voluntary, will no longer be able to source any inputs from China.

Another supply chain disruption that could have big knock on impact for Western industries.

Why were these six U.S. entities sanctioned by China?

This is because behind the U.S.'s illegal sanctions against China lies a network of commercial firms, consulting agencies, and NGOs acting as "proxies." They provide reports, technical tracing, and investigative testimony to package these illegitimate sanctions, dressing up lies as so-called "professional conclusions." These six entities played key roles in the chain of fabricating and implementing illegal sanctions related to Xinjiang; their actions were egregious in nature.

Let us first look at the entity at the top of the list: Applied DNA Sciences.
This company specializes in DNA-based tracing technology, providing solutions to the U.S. government and Western buyers for tracing agricultural products, such as cotton. Many of the technical tools used by the U.S. to "screen" products linked to Xinjiang originated with this company. Its technology became a crucial instrument for the U.S. in enforcing the so-called "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act," providing a technical pretext for the unreasonable detention and inspection of Chinese goods.

The role of Stratum Reservoir is quite similar; the organization provides U.S. administrative agencies with services related to supply chain tracing and origin verification, and participates in supply chain auditing projects concerning Xinjiang-related issues. Put simply, it provides the data support needed for the U.S. to screen and identify companies allegedly linked to Xinjiang, serving as a source of data within the sanctions chain.

As for Altana Technologies, it is a tech startup that works closely with the U.S. government, specializing in supply chain risk screening technology. Data shows that the database developed by the company is used by U.S. agencies to identify and flag enterprises with industrial ties to Xinjiang, helping to rapidly pinpoint target entities and providing the tools to expand the sanctions list.

Then there is the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA). It is a globally renowned industry alliance, and many multinational corporations rely on its compliance advice to manage supply chain risks. However, regarding Xinjiang-related issues, the RBA has issued numerous supply chain compliance guidelines based on predetermined positions; in doing so, it indirectly supports U.S. sanctions policies and pressures multinational corporations to sever ties with relevant Chinese industries.

Finally, the Vitagroup specializes in issuing investigative reports alleging "forced labor" in the Xinjiang cotton industry. Reports issued by this organization—lacking objective, on-the-ground research—have been repeatedly cited by the U.S. Congress and government agencies. They serve as a so-called "key source of evidence" for hyping lies about Xinjiang and expanding the Entity List, acting as a crucial driver in the spread of false narratives.

The aforementioned "Human Rights in China" organization is an NGO that has long engaged in anti-China activities; it churns out smear reports every six months and continuously fabricates and disseminates disinformation regarding Xinjiang. The group lobbies the U.S. Congress and government to push for the enactment of further restrictive legislation against China.

It is evident that while the U.S. government is responsible for enacting sanctions legislation and issuing executive orders, these six entities provide the reports, technical tools, industry guidelines, and public lobbying efforts. They package political lies as seemingly "professional compliance conclusions," thereby pressuring multinational corporations to fall in line.

Without the cooperation of these institutions, many of the U.S.'s unilateral sanctions would be difficult to implement or expand. Consequently, China's countermeasures aim to sever this "government-plus-private-ally" sanctions chain. By explicitly prohibiting domestic organizations and individuals from engaging in transactions or cooperation with them, China intends to make these institutions—which act as "shock troops" in the campaign to suppress China—pay a tangible commercial price.

Even more egregious is the fact that on July 30—just one day after the lead officials for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs concluded a video call—the U.S. Department of Homeland Security brazenly added over 40 Chinese entities to the so-called "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List." The scale of this action is unprecedented. The U.S. logic is clear: it seeks to maintain economic and trade ties with China while simultaneously deploying administrative power to impose unilateral sanctions—attempting to reap economic dividends while continuously suppressing China. Such a stance defies all reason.

Therefore, one should never place faith in U.S. sincerity. When diplomatic representations and verbal warnings fail to halt U.S. actions, China must wield various "weapons and tools" and adopt necessary countermeasures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
