children rely on the adults around them, their feelings are always ignored. they get abused in any form bc they’re children. they’re treated as property, never people
them and dick's adoption makes me crazy because dick's adoption takes place between officer down (gordon getting shot and retiring) and bruce wayne murderer/fugitive, ie when bruce is pushing everyone away. and yet he still adopts dick because he wants to show dick how much
(inspired by bruce wayne murderer/fugitive discussion on the tl)
dick's adoption does not take place long before the events of murderer/fugitive. i'm thinking a couple months at most. so dick, who has long felt insecure and unsure of his place in bruce's life (see gotham knights
he cares for him.
And I think that add to why Bruce pushes him away in Murderer/Fugitive! In the issue of Gotham Knights right before Murderer, we see Bruce saying to himself, to 'Batman' that he thinks caring for people is the same as handing them a death sentence.
if you're dehumanizing, misgendering, harassing or otherwise disrespecting people over fictional characters, it might be time to step away from the screen for a bit, just food for thought.
