I decided to unpin the tweet I had about the ZK-EVM. I'm going to pin this one instead. What I wanted to say is this:
Building it the way I did said a lot about me.
I believe the way it was dismissed says a lot about them.
I've moved on to other things. I feel increasingly better not thinking about it.
It's just better off that we don't ever have anything to do with each other. I don't expect I'll ever try attending a crypto event ever again. It was only my mistake for expecting something different.
I've learned a valuable lesson.
I think therapy should always be prefaced by "given the circumstances". If you're falling short of the circumstances then therapy should let you get back to them. If you're dealing with difficult circumstances better than you should I think therapy is probably less helpful. And ya I've been in situations where family has said it was a mental health when it fucking obviously was a money issue. Also a pain issue for a very long time.
I wouldn't want privacy if it meant it was easier for cybercriminals to act(and get away). I say this as a member of the group that is psychologically disaffected by the lack of privacy on the internet. One of the most meaningful things that can happen in our world in the next 10 years is a contraction of cyber theft. Nobody is predicting this — most predictions are that it will grow — but I say it should not.
@CyberRickX You should take the (hot emin arc) off your profile. Emin said in an interview that time for memes has past. They'll get by selling tokens but there's nothing on Avalanche you can ever look forward to.
Not having a working laptop these last 3 weeks have allowed me to enjoy more of the summer. After a year and a quarter of doing no exercise I started running. But I think the next 2-3 weeks of not having my laptop are gonna suck more. I've gone over everything in my head a few times and there's not much left to think about.
I'm building up to go for longer runs instead of the earlier plan to do a lot of the short ones.
5 laps around my neighbourhood is about 5k so I did that twice.
I'll do that at least again tomorrow with a chance I will do 6 depending on how it feels.
Eventually I'll just do 20 laps which takes me 2 hours if I'm not running fast.
@MattSchmenk Haven't seen anything said about this. But if they can prove he had knowledge of what was going on which exceeds the burden of "he had to fucking know obviously" he deserves to be suspended. I don't know if they're going to find that proof. The guy is pretty quiet.
Hearing about the scheming that the Clippers, and yes Kawhi, were pulling off behind the scenes is so ridiculous. Just even thinking about doing something like this is pretty outrageous. But then actually doing it and not thinking anyone was going to find out...
I want the Raptors to get Kawhi. But he should probably be suspended for half a season. I wouldn't void the contract though.
@averageandy Talking about creating a better financial system in the same industry. But one is so basic, so incremental, and it's truly doubtful it makes finance any better. We are not the same.
Around this time last year I was taking my first steps into a really big discovery. I didn't understand it completely at first and I sometimes overextended where it would be useful - but that turned out to just be the exercise. It works here and it doesn't work there. Some of the places it does work are beautiful and mindblowing.
Integrity is not something that can be abandoned in a 1-off case scenario. That's immature and could only be excused by someone younger without as much life experience. You don't get to pick and choose, and you are responsible for any deviation.
I won't have my laptop repaired and returned to me until likely the last week of the month. There are only 1 or 2 things I figured out I need to do when I get it back, but generally this marks a period of change after about a year and a half of spending the majority of my day researching and building with AI. I don't have to go back to being that way. It was a tremendously challenging and interesting period of my life — that will legitimately be the anchor of the rest of my life.
I wouldn't have been able to run a single lap around my small neighbourhood 2 weeks ago.
Today I was able to run 2 laps at a time 4 different times.
I haven't missed any days.
In a week I would like to run 2 laps 8-10 times.
It didn't take such foundational mathematical knowledge for it to be useful in my case.
The course appeared as a history of technical approaches that have been tried(and some developed).
It was a new subject for me and going in my knowledge was mostly that ZK was incredibly slow(and not ready) and I had a little knowledge of how Groth16 worked via a Tornado Cash similar project.
It didn't take foundational mathematical knowledge to go along with the course to eventually get to the newer research.
One of those papers in particular stood out for me as a huge leap.
I studied that 1 paper and I studied how it got to that paper(reading the original work introducing the concept).
Using AI - I just had to be discerning about what I would use.
I think the mistake this year for the Blue Jays was not having a fallback approach. It seems kind of silly but sadly true.
You go with the approach you want until the opposing teams figures out how to counter it. Other teams have demonstrated they have been able to counter it all year. But it doesn't seem like there has been a fallback for the Jays.
You have to play both angles really. You show you can adopt a patient approach at the plate. You show that works just as well as being aggressive. Then the other team doesn't know which strategy you are choosing. The way it is right now it feels like they are being dumb and choosing to do the same thing that isn't working as well anymore. They need to solidify this right now in a season that no longer matters.
