I flew from Lagos to Abuja on Sunday, and experienced so many frustrations just to get to Abuja for a case. From hours of delayed flight leading to getting to Abuja late at night. Only for me to get to court the following day to hear "My case was not listed". Wasted resources!

If you are a practicing lawyer in Nigeria, you will understand this counsel’s frustration.

Last year, we had a matter at the High Court. I was fully prepared and rushed to court that day. In fact, I even forgot to eat. We got to court and, after about an hour, we were told to pick another date. I was disappointed, but there was nothing we could do about it. Nobody would apologize or take responsibility. Money, time, and effort wasted.

Mind you, this is not a new trend. Due to my upbringing, I had been attending court proceedings even before I became a teenager. My dad is also a lawyer, and I followed him to court before I even started understanding what went on there. One thing you would notice was that, on some days, “the court will not sit.” It was excusable then because, although technological advancement existed, it was not as prevalent. This is 2026, and it is not good that this is still happening.

Lawyers and litigants have their own schedules. We have counsel who come to court from different jurisdictions. Lawyers spend heavily on flights, accommodation, and feeding just to appear in court, only to be told that My Lord will not sit. Respect should be reciprocal, and we have to be considerate.

We understand that sometimes the absence of a judge may not be intentional. It may also be due to unforeseen circumstances. In fact, I personally do not believe we have judges who simply decide not to come to court. What we, however, request is proper notice before the court date. Any judge who knows he will not sit should communicate with the registrar on time so that lawyers can be properly notified.

I believe we need a technology that will solve these issues permanently. It should not still be a thing in 2026. Lawyers and litigants have their own schedules, and it is unfair for lawyers to prepare for a case only for the court not to sit. It is part of the reason the administration of justice is delayed. We need a permanent solution. This is 2026, not 1996.

After I watched the video, I understood why all the waybill are checked in my madam's logistics company before it’s sent out.

I also understood that this man who sh0t is way dangerous than the one he sh0t.

I learnt this guy wasn't déad till he got to the station and was sh0t thrice by another police, which clearly means there's something shady they're trying to hide.

I learnt you shouldn't trust anyone no matter how close they might be to you. Some might just be planning your downfall.

For the umpteenth time, social media users must be accountable for their posts. If you cannot defend it, do not post it. Creating fake accounts and giveaways to ruin someone’s image or business for selfish and mischievous purposes is not only criminal but also ruins the hard work and business of people. Like I always say, if scapegoats are not made out of these online bullies, others will not learn their lessons.

In the recent time, Moniepoint was targeted by certain individuals hiding behind their social media handles on X, who have now been uncovered to be one Adebayo Aliu and Fatuntele Tunde. These individuals conspired to subject Moniepoint to cyberbullying by creating some fraudulent accounts and giveaways urging their followers to share unverifiable and scandalous experience about the bank using the hashtag #Moniepointscandal for a couple of months. Both of them are now answering for their crimes by facing criminal charges before the Federal High Court Abuja.

Funding false unverifiable experience against b a financial institution is not only tantamount to defamation and punishable under the cybercrime laws; it also creates panic among customers who are largely small business owners, struggling families and salary earner, even when these cases are unverified and fraudulent.
