I'll be disabling my #Mastodon <-> #Twitter crossposter, as I'd like to leave this platform for good, and the community over on Mastodon is WAAAAY better than anything Twitter can offer anyways.

@UkaszRabbit @Plagman2 If DXVK were on 2.0, it would mean dropping support for lots of older GPUs that don't support the Vulkan extensions required by 2.0.
*maybe Steam could include some way to replace the Proton-provided DXVK with a custom DXVK easily, that would allow for mitigating this.
@Takahata101 I'll have to agree with @ransan32 on this one, Masotodon is nice when you get into the flow of it. https://t.co/bAWNC47b6k is maintained by vtubers, for vtubers, so I'd suggest that.
@CinnamonFloofsy@ZippyVtuber@ransan32 You can see things from other servers, they just have to be federated by interacting with them, such as following a user on their instance or boosting something.
Federation is a bit of a pain sometimes like that, but for the experience it gives, I'd say it's worth it.
@BouderKyle@_GameXData I believe everything you see in Game Mode is running inside of gamescope, but could be wrong. The settings window is part of the Steam client itself, too, I think.
That said, a ton of things that Valve used for the Deck (like controller drivers) are proprietary, so can't be sure
@_GameXData@BouderKyle Technical answer as to why that's the case, Gamescope (what everything on Gaming Mode runs in) only allows one window to be focused at a time and pushes everything back, so it can't support more than one screen without some (major, I think) design changes.
There's a lot of weird debate about whether Rust in the kernel is useful or not... in my experience, it's way more useful than I could've ever imagined!
I went from 1st render to a stable desktop that can run run games, browsers, etc. in about two days of work on my driver (!!!)
I wanna get a small drawing done for #TransgenderAwarenessWeek, would yall mind suggesting some peeps to check out? I don't need anything high quality, just a simple sketch and maybe color is fine
#commission
and I guess we'll see how well Mastodon handles scam bots, eh?
TIL that OSMC doesn't support booting from a USB drive on the Raspberry Pi 4. Bit disappointed, because the SD cards I use aren't as performant as my USB drives, and I lose track of SD cards often.

What the fuck?

Their reasoning is for security, but if anything, Windows on the Deck would be even more secure than a PC installation of Windows since it's more focused towards *gaming*, if there was any… https://t.co/qSw66f4xDe
Got OSMC sorted out-ish, was fun. Also surprised me to see how smooth it was. Tomorrow I'll actually set it up with all my stuff (podman containers, etc) and script it should I ever need to redo it. (^▿^)
