Liberalism is my idiosyncrasy. A society where fanaticism and bigotry is buried by respect for 1another's views & perspectives is my hope. Im Arsenal supporter
"An ethnic group that uses winter cap given to them by British inside 35 ⁰ heat as traditional symbolism ,Is that a people to take serious ??
Shoe get size abeg !!!!"
@yomiable
It's so saddening to watch certain people this woke than being awoke. No one actually rises by holding another on the ground. Nonetheless, however distasteful this vitriol could be, there's need for introspection. I have insisted that less light and attention have been unfortunately shone and paid by ndị #Igbo to the Igbo Culture as a whole. Where dancing, masquerading, paraphernalia, ATR are allegedly made to represent the entirety of a great people's sophisticated culture; why would one not expect a crop of unawered and traunt persons taunt the fully conscious. The above mentioned are mere parts representing the whole.
Ọmọ, you are not to blame. Blaming flares up the flames that keep all lame. I personally like the criticism despite its destructive inclinations. I too, critise some of us who celebrate new yam festival with yams they did not cultivate. I wonder and question why the long red cap is made in Czech Republic. I am worried that science and technology is not celebrated with same vibes and enthusiasm with which we celebrate dance and traditional habits and religion. I have called many back to farming and producing the food they eat.
Ọmọ. The said British said these of my ancestors in the words of George Thomas Basden,
"We were in a town never previously visited by Europeans and this little incident did much to establish friendly relations with the people. I had strayed from the party and, seeing the smith's shop, I entered and sat down to watch. A crowd gathered round and were greatly interested when we started working together, and the confidence of the folk was won. In return for the professional hint received, the blacksmith there and then took a piece of an old cutlass
and forged it into an armlet. He duly chased it with a punched pattern and presented it to me. I then watched him making needles ; fine work with such clumsy tools.
In another shop I saw a smith make all the essential parts of the lock of a gun. He manufactured his own
taps and dies from pieces of old cutlasses. In this instance, indeed, the man had made every part of the gun except
the barrel, the stock and fittings being so well executed that one could scarcely distinguish the result from an English-made article. I inquired whether he could construct a gun completely, and he replied that he could as far as the forging was concerned, but that he knew no method
for tempering the barrel, and therefore it was no use his making that part. In any case it could never be anything but a failure, as the only material at his disposal was the
ordinary trade bar-iron.
It is for their skill in repairing guns that the smiths are welcomed in all parts of the country. They are quite capable of converting old flintlocks into cap-guns, and, as
long as caps are procurable, men were constantly purchasing the old flintlocks at the factories, and then getting them converted."

Ọmọ, if what you experience in today's world of Internet are denied or truncated in your korokoro eyes, what lived experiences were not mutilated by the few who held a privileged chokehold on information then?
Ọmọ, the Igbo are not your problem. Your problems are that you have been severely lied to when history was scrapped off.
"Shoe get size" but your incitement is definitely an oversize.
And to all the amazing Ọmọs out there, we are warm as one.

H.E. Mr Peter Gregory Obi, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party Speaks on the 2023 Presidential Elections Petition Court (PEPC) Judgment
On 7th September 2023
At Onitsha, Nigeria
1. Yesterday, 6 September 2023, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) finally delivered its long-awaited judgments on the Petitions challenging the outcome of the presidential election held on 25 February 2023. This judgment was delivered within the statutory time frame under the extant statutes. We acknowledge the Court's contributions to due process and the seeming attempt to strengthen our democracy.
2. As petitioners in this case, we respect the views and rulings of the Court, but we disagree with the Court's reasoning and conclusions in the judgment it delivered. It is my intention as a presidential candidate and the intention of the Labour Party to challenge this judgment by way of appeal immediately, as allowed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
3. The PEPC has rendered its judgment, but that esteemed body is not the final arbiter. The responsibility now falls on the Supreme Court. I do know that judgment is not coterminous with justice. I implore Nigerians to remain focused, steadfast, and peaceful; and to abide by the rule of law and understand that this matter has not reached its logical conclusion.
4. Our legal team has already received our firm instruction to file an appeal against the decision. I shall not relent in the quest for justice, not necessarily for myself but indeed for our teeming supporters all over the country whose mandate to us at the polls was regrettably truncated by INEC.
5. The strength and value of our democracy reside in solid national institutions and our confidence in them. Electoral litigations will be almost unnecessary and nonexistent if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) discharges its statutory functions creditably, transparently and with discernible fairness. When that body fails, as it did recently, thus subverting the will of Nigerian voters, the recourse to the judiciary becomes imperative, as is now the case.
6. I thank every Nigerian who has supported our cause and campaign for a New Nigeria characterized by fairness, equity, justice, the rule of law, peace, prosperity, inclusiveness, sustainable growth, and development. A New Nigeria is possible and achievable. I especially thank our legal team, the Labour Party and Obidient Family and all those who showed up daily during the court trials. God bless you all, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The grave silence in Nigeria is their biggest headache. Nigerians won’t rejoice over his pyrrhic victory, so he is going to stage a public spectacle at the airport upon his return. Sycophants will line up at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport tarmac to welcome their sojourning Balablu.
Buhari did a lot of travels in 8 years, that man enjoyed his “baby boy” life. He went back to Nigeria almost empty-handed after each trip. Total Foreign Direct Investments in 8 years was a meager $89.4 Billion. BAT will be no different! We shall see his economic performance at the end, won’t we?
Peter Obi will continue to enjoy all the love & support he needs. The Obidients must stay together, we must increase our ranks. The compromised Judiciary has emboldened our determination. We will follow PO everywhere he goes, until we rescue Nigeria from bigots & Crooks. NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!
✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊✊
Peter Obi will remain my President, he will always have my maximum respect. That man is everything any parent would want as a son. Decency, poise, class, effervescence - ever ready to serve, not to plunder!
The Establishment are so lucky, they should be grateful that PO is no radical, Nigeria would have been up in flames, & Tinubu will remain in India forever. All the Faculties of Law in Nigeria should be converted to poultry farms. If you’re a lawyer in Nigeria, I’m sorry for you, you’re in a wrong profession.
No relation of mine down there will study law. It took the APC 16 years to usher in their useless CHANGE. They were able to achieve that through “radicalism, blackmail, ethnic & media warfares” as well. But the Obidients are no terrorists, we are no ethnic champions. We frown at all of that.
We will follow a different path, & we will achieve our goal, but a better result & greater impact. If we must win, then we must be different! No Championship team ever gave up trying to play in the Premier League. Winner don’t quit, losers do!
Therefore, if Peter Obi decide it is time to head to the Supreme Court, I’ll be there! If he decide to contest in 2027, I’ll be there! The man won me over, & I’m sure those are the qualities most of you saw in him as well. IT’S DEEDS, NOT WORDS! GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN GOLD! 👏
In Nigeria, the youths abandoned Education & technology for content creation & skit making. Who would blame them? People have to eat. In the absence of quality education & jobs upon graduation, people must improvise. Nigeria is an irresponsible father who abandoned his children.
He produces more children than he can account & cater for! The future of Nigeria is so bleak, I fear for the next generation, & the one after. No nation denies its children their inheritance like Nigeria, ‘he’ leaves nothing behind for his many abandoned children. 💔
From the NE to the NW, NC to the SW, down to the SS & the SE, children have no inheritance, except the ones they have to create for themselves. Sabinus, Josh2Funny, Mr Macaroni & others made it, despite the reckless abandon. Nigerians are resilient, the political class take advantage of that!
Peter Obi is the only man whose heart is in the right place. He won’t spend a 100 Days in office with empty wage promises for Nigerian workers. He won’t renew the poverty & the hopelessness Nigerians are facing. He won’t worry about “making himself look good,” against “being good.”
He has no single bone of showmanship in him. “Subsidy is gone!” within hours of his inauguration will never happen! The man has obvious respect for the lowest of the society (those who cannot afford to bring anything home). He’ll deliver actual results, not showmanship & empty promises.
Peter Obi x Datti will start with themselves, cutting off 20% of the pipeline of corruption. If they are incorruptible, their lean cabinet will get the memo. The size of his cabinet won’t parachute off the skylines. What do you need 45 ministers for? Owambe?
Obi would have sent a bill to NASS to reduce the size of the government. He would have started probing the massive Oil Theft, Subsidy Scam, the N32 trillion Ways & Means (printing of the Naira/Corruption/Inflation). Most of all, the much elusive ‘FDIs’ would have started pouring in.
The diaspora need a man they can trust with their wealth & that of their foreign partners. There are things even I cannot compromise. For instance, I cannot speak highly of Tinubu in my circles, I cannot vouch for a man I don’t trust. When I say YES! I put myself, reputation & credibility on the line.
I’m sure he did “hit the ground running,” but in the opposite direction. Nigeria is not a Member of the G20, the summit is billed for the 9th. For his showmanship, he left Nigeria on the 3rd, six days ahead of a program that Nigeria is only an “invitee.” There is a catch!
YOU’RE ALMOST THERE, KEEP READING….
@maazi_ogbonnaya If only I know where you stay, kwa ịṅụọrọ m one bọh nke nwụrụ anwụ. Your submission is apt. That imaginary monarchial system has poisoned the perception of a whole lot of Igbos and non Igbos alike.
