It makes God deceptive — the cross looks like judgment, but Paul says it's actually love. Why would God make salvation look exactly like condemnation?

@cirnosad Because for a Jew, a crucified Messiah is a contradiction in terms. The Torah says a hanged man is cursed by God (Deut 21:23). So Paul’s gospel starts with the most shameful, cursed death imaginable — and then claims that this is how God saved the world.
