🚨 High tension in Dadyal, PoK earlier today as locals block roads with the body of a civilian killed in recent firing by Pakistani Rangers. Widespread protests and heavy sloganeering against the police and security forces are underway across the region.

Important to note: Since 5th June, 59 individuals have been killed by Pakistani Rangers and PoK Police on the directions of the ISI’s Sector Commander, PoK Brigadier Faiq Ayub. Today’s killing is just an additional chapter.

🚨 Protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) appeal to India and people of Jammu for help over a three-week halt in food supplies; thousands express support for reunification with India.

On the 26th day of protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), one of the principal protest organizers, Sardar Aman Khan, appealed to the people of Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, and Doda in India’s Jammu region, alleging that the Pakistani government has blocked food supplies to PoK for the past three weeks, creating a severe food shortage. He said that the people of PoK need support and assistance from them and from India.

Hinting at reunification with India, Sardar Aman Khan asked the gathering whether they should move towards the Line of Control (LoC). The crowd of around 80,000 people at Rawalakot’s Eidgah Ground responded with repeated chants of “yes.”

Aman Khan warned the Pakistani government that if its response to the people’s demands is bullets, then the people of PoK have many other options.

The 57-day pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high Amarnath cave shrine is scheduled to commence on July 3 simultaneously from the traditional 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in the Anantnag district and the shorter but steeper 14-km Baltal route in the Ganderbal district. The first batch of pilgrims will leave the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu today.
