Restoring habitats connects isolated protected areas, allowing animals to roam and plants to spread naturally.
By restoring wildlife corridors, we help animals move safely between habitats for food, shelter, or mates.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and driving the momentum we’ve built together.
Thank you once again for being part of this important event.

@agape_earth Great job on the #ACCAC2024. The climate change discussions were enlightening & the speakers were excellent. I personally was impressed by Dativa’s submissions. On the other hand, for future events, perhaps stricter timekeeping would improve transitions and Q&A. Thank you.

🌍Africa proposes 1.3 Trillion USD, 5-year Climate Finance Goal !!!!
With #adaptation finance in focus, and as Parties to the UNFCCC gear up for #COP29 next month, the African group has proposed a 1.3 trillion dollars per year climate finance goal that should run for five years up to 2030.
In the context of Africa’s enormous #adaptation needs, the continent has been asking for climate finance to adapt to a problem it never caused.
🗣️Speaking at the Ministerial Dialogue on the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance (NCQG) in Bake, Azerbaijan, Dr. Eng. Festus Ng'eno, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Forestry, State Department of Environment and Climate Change, Kenya, referred to the African Ministerial Conference on Environment decision, which called for a USD 1.3 trillion per year climate finance goal, as the basis for the continent’s position.
In terms of mobilization, the African group is proposing a burden sharing arrangement among developed countries to be designed to ascertain delivery of the goal in line with current arrangements under the Convention and its Paris Agreement, including on categorizations of countries, emphasizing the need for countries to live up to the basis of engagement in the UNFCCC—existing mandates, principles, and responsibilities under the Convention and its Paris Agreement.
At #COP29AZERBAİJAN , parties are expected to agree on the NCQG to replace the famous 100-billion-dollar goal that was agreed in Copenhagen in 2009.

#COP29 is a vital moment for the world.
As the climate crisis hits every economy harder each year, we need to redouble our focus on climate solutions.

While global consensus recognizes the principle of Common But Differentiated Responsibility and Capability, Africa must harness its rich indigenous knowledge to craft tailored solutions addressing the continent's unique climate challenges. @DerrickOtim5#ACCAC2024
Thank you @agape_earth for recognizing the importance of children's voices in this climate change fight. Hearing you fighting for our future not only gives us hope but gives us the fuel to fight on.
I was privileged to attend the Inaugural African Climate Change Adaptation Conference from 7th-8th Oct at Silver Springs Hotel,Kampala, that was organized by @agape_earth under the theme ACTIONABLE KNOWLEDGE FOR A CLIMATE RESILIENT AFRICA.
#ACCAC2024#AdaptationInFocus
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of speaking and moderating a series of sessions at the Inaugural African Climate Change Adaptation Conference 2024 convened by @agape_earth in collaboration with partners like @kalikumutimalaw. Our theme this year was “Actionable Knowledge for a Climate Resilient Africa”, and it was such an honour to engage with thought leaders, experts, and passionate advocates committed to addressing the impacts of climate change across the continent.
Cognizant of the fact that Africa contributes the least to global GHG emissions (4%), we explored innovative strategies and practical approaches to building resilience in African communities. From integrating traditional knowledge with modern adaptation practices to harnessing technology for sustainable agriculture, the energy transition and sustainable water management, the discussions were insightful and action-oriented.
The #ACCAC2024 reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration and the importance of inclusive approaches in climate adaptation. As we work towards a resilient Africa, it is crucial that we bridge the gap between research, policy, and implementation, ensuring that the knowledge we generate translates into tangible outcomes for vulnerable communities, at the very forefront of the climate crisis.
Many thanks to all participants, speakers, and partners for making this event a success. I am unfalteringly committed to advocating for impactful climate action that empowers African communities to withstand the brunt of climate change. Together, we can create a sustainable and climate-resilient future for Africa, and indeed for the world. 🌍☘️✊🏾
