For today’s SDOH - Health and Healthcare - members of PHSLC and @UHA_Columbus handed out COVID health kits containing masks, sanitizer, snacks, and water to underserved communities in Columbus.
In honor of NPH Week, PHSLC and @UHA_Columbus will be collaborating to raise awareness about the social determinants of health. Each day we will post about a different social determinant and a corresponding outreach event. Stay tuned to see what we do!!
This winter, the Public Health Student Leadership Council spread #BuckeyeLove to children and families affected by the opioid epidemic in Ohio by donating new winter coats. 🧥❤ https://t.co/0nZNUPrYxI
We started this 4 years ago as an offshoot of our @NIDAnews funded rural opioid initiative project in southern OH. @OSUPHSLC, a student run organization, made it happen that 1st year & has run with it since. It has grown every year.
Research projects can do more than research.

Thanks again to everyone that donated to the 4th Annual Coat Drive. PHSLC was able to give 160 coats to children in southern Ohio because of your generosity. A portion of those coats were delivered today to Scioto County. ❤️
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our annual coat drive this year. Because of your generosity, we were able to hit our goal of $3,000! Because of you, PHSLC will be able to deliver 150 coats to children in need in 6 Ohio Counties IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!
We’re touched by the kindness of Bexley resident Wendy Almansanu, whose support for alumna Dr. Amy Acton ’96 has turned into a campaign and scholarship fund for public health students who have overcome adversity. #GivingTuesday https://t.co/51PKO1u1mG
