Being faithful in your thought life, or when tempted to sin where no one else sees, is the highest form of love one can offer the other members of the Body of Christ.
Why?
Because you are not a hypocrite. Not a deceiver.
Your life is true.
And… the only motivation that drives one to such faithfulness is a love and fear of God - to keep His word.
If we can not do this, how can we say we love others as well?
Then when you do good works and bless others, which is seen, and which usually considered charitable deeds, it’s not a show… but instead part of your true life before God.
We should be faithful to obey the Spirit when He works in us to do good, but as a foundation, and if not more so, to deny ourselves in the hidden.
We are so used to an act, fakery… that we go about speaking God’s word to ‘help others’ but do we actually die to self in the moments we ought to?
If not we are liars and essentially placing burdens on other we ourselves don’t bear.
We must come to a true godly fear and love for God and others, and it starts in the secret place of the heart and mind.
“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”
Matthew 22:37
The light brings our foolishness clearly to view,
In things that we say and in things that we do;
But if, in the light, we acknowledge our sin,
Then wisdom, by faith, comes where folly has been.
Excerpt from a song from Eugen B. Sørensen.
Obedience is more than just believing. It is true believing. Belief + action.
“And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,” Heb 5:9
Jesus couldn’t do anything unless He heard it from the Father.
Do we have the same mind - to hear and obey?
@josla1912 I need Jesus to do a miracle in me for this to happen.
But for him to do a miracle in me i need to be open to what he wants to tell me, and what he wants me to do, then he can guide me to complete victory.
HOPE - THE ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL
Inner unrest is in the soul. Things we hear, things we see, impressions, feelings, emotions, our will, our 'I'...
Which is why Jesus' soul was troubled. But He didn't let His human will be done, but the Father's in spite of this feeling.
The more the sword of the Spirit divides between soul and spirit, the more we progress from being soulish Christians - moved by what we see and experience - to being spiritual.
We become more like Christ, not judging by what we see and hear, but we hear from Him as we are raised with Him and seated in heavenly places (in Spirit) and sit in His counsel.
Isaiah 11: 3 "His delight is in the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears"
Our hope needs to be well established in our heart in mind! Hope in anything temporal, or anything outside of Christ is futile and will always lead to unrest in our soul.
We must hear, speak and believe the Word of God in faith, for in the faith delivered to the saints, is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for. Our victory is our faith that has overcome the world with all it's unrest.
The unrest of the world does not need to bring our soul into unrest.
Jesus has made the way back to the Father, if we follow Him, He leads us out of both our fleshly works AND our soulishness.
Peter was soulish when we tried to spare Jesus from giving His life. Satan works through well-meaning soulish people who allow their feelings to dictate.
Our hope is the anchor for the soul, for the soul needs something to ground it, otherwise we are led by our soul, and will not act in wisdom.
Hebrews 6:19
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
What is unrest?
Inner turmoil. Discontent, agitation and unhappiness. Having a lack of drive, energy and motivation: having a lack of spirit.
The solution is not self-help books. It is not new resolutions. It is NOT counselling, therapy or changing your environment.
You need life.
Life is the opposite of unrest. It’s living. A spirit, a force that drives us to do things. A force that gives energy and heart.
He who has the Son, has life. Jesus is the source of life. In Him we enter into rest.
What does it mean to have Jesus?
He lives in us. He lives through us. We no longer live. No longer rely on our own reasoning, but just do His will.
His Spirit guides us to all truth about ourselves. There we acknowledge the truth, and His spirit sets us free from the sin that plagued us. Sin, the source of unrest.
Being set free, we enter His rest. We become like and part of Him. We become alive for and in Him. He is now our life.
This happens bit by bit. Gradually. He shows us some, and as we obey and enter, we get to see some more.
This is the way.
It’s a continuous journey. Coming to Jesus is not a once off event.
Welcome to the narrow way, the only way that leads to life!
Every young man should read The Alchemist by @paulocoelho.
It is about a boy, seeking his destiny, and growing into a man while looking for it.
In the end he found his destiny was where he’s always been, but he had go to go out in search for it regardless, otherwise he would have never found it.
What he gained on the journey was what was most important.
He made mistakes and learned from it. He stagnated, wanted to get comfortable, yet the desire to reach his destiny kept him going.
The book is full of treasures. Teaching a young man good ethics and wisdom. To learn to love the desert in his life. To endure.
It started with a decision to start. And continued with many decisions to keep going.
It is your life.
Your destiny: The full potential of the man you ought to become.
You need to read it twice. First time is a nice story of a boy. 2nd time, it’s you.
Dear young men,
Take heed to counsel. Do not be wise in your own eyes.
Do not seek counsel to soothe your itchy ears and selfish ambitions.
I’ve had many crucial forks in the road behind me.
I took the turn for the better, by listening and respecting good counsel despite it being excruciating painful to hear and accept.
God gives grace fo the humble.
He resist the proud. He hates a proud mind.
Be a man. Be brave. Ask counsel of those you know have the truth.
What other people think and say about us
is NOT our business.
They said it, they thought it. Not us.
We don't have to correct it.
It doesn't change how God sees us.
Let them think whatever they want - our life is not attached to the opinion of others!
We commit ourselves to Him, who judges righteously.
We don't have to defend ourselves or our reputation.
This is carnal and not the preoccupation of a disciple who follows His Master—despised and rejected yet possessing the fullness of joy, untarnishable joy.
If God gives grace to say something pure and wise at the right time, fools' mouths will be stopped, but we are to come to rest when it concerns people speaking evil of us—just as God is at rest.
Acting of hear-say, getting worked up... total waste of time and energy. This is how the world lives.
May this liberate you from a ton of unnecessary mental and emotional burdens that plague you by playing our scenarios in your mind where you plan what you will say back to all kinds of things people say.

Revelation 3:12
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
'Therefore you shall be perfect,
just as your Father in heaven
is perfect.'
Matthew 5:48
😳Yikes!?
When we first turn to God, Christ's sacrifice justifies us, and we have peace with God - saved by grace through faith.
We are now 'perfect' because according to the light we've received to this point, we've acknowledged our sins and laid aside all works of the flesh that are evident to us as being sins.
But it doesn't stop there, and neither should we:)
'...having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness... or 'perfection'.' Romans 6:22
A disciple follows His Master, and so we begin
walking in the light, as He is in the light.
As we do, Jesus, by His Spirit and word,
brings our conscience in line with the perfect
law of liberty, setting us free from both;
1) dead works
AND
2) deeds of the body.
Dead works are works done to serve our conscience and can be anything from religious appearing acts, to good deeds - but God has no pleasure in them.
Deeds of the body are things we do and afterwards, in God's light, see that they are also not pleasing to Him. These were not works of the flesh, as we didn't do them willfully whilst knowing them to be sin.
If then walk according to our ever-enlightening (not in a new age sense) conscience - we walk perfectly before God.
Our conscience is being formed according to the perfect will of God - not any pattern of this world.
God does not condemn us for what we do not see that is displeasing (Romans 8:1); only what of our lives (thoughts, words, and deeds) is already in the light.
As we receive more light from Him, the Father of Lights, we see the evil present with us, we judge it in His light - we do not lose heart.
Walking in this light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and as Hebrews states, '..how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?'
This is how the Kingdom of God grows within us, taking more and more of the dark areas of our thought-life, soul and spirit and bringing light to these parts. Then, when we go home to Christ, we are glorified with Him—having walked perfectly according to our conscience—not perfected in all things like Him—for no one is worthy like the Lamb.
All the members of His body who walk in this manner form the Bride with a radiant combined glory that Jesus sees as flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone - and white dress without spot or wrinkle!
The Brides righteous acts are perfect before God because they are neither works of the flesh, dead works nor deeds of the body, but done in the light of His glory. (Revelation 19:7-8)

Verses:
'...both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience...
...how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?'
Hebrews 9:9-14 '
...that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.'
Colossians 4:12
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection.
Hebrews 6:1
'And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.'
Romans 12:2
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Revelation 19:7-8
'But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.'
Proverbs 4:18

Once you've gone a little distance
along the difficult, narrow way,
you'll realise it's narrow only for the flesh.
It soon becomes the New and Living Way
and liberty increases as you walk in the Spirit.
For where the Spirit is, there IS liberty!
Your mind and inner man are renewed,
your eyes are enlightened, righteousness
is made possible and peace guards your heart
in The Kingdom of God.
Joy that can not be shaken or taken
becomes your strength! And wisdom
from above becomes your wealth.
You follow The Lamb wherever He leads
with first hand experience that humbling
yourself means more grace.
Power, love and a sound mind
set you as a pillar in His temple in a
Kingdom that can't be shaken.
Fruits and streams of living water
nourish and draw others who long for
more than this world can offer.
Afflications are light, the yoke is easy,
and when you see Him, you have been made
like Him, for His rod, staff and light guided
you to your eternal home!
When we dare to ask Jesus to lead us into a deeper life, He is faithful and will do it.
Anything we ask according to His will, we have.
Ask him to show you where you lack. The root of your anger, impatience. Or just tell Him He can do anything He wants with you - send any trial on your way!
Very very few people are interested in asking this. That is why very very few people enter into a deeper life with Him.
I’ve asked Him, and He really led me ‘through the valley of the shadow of death’.
It was hard, but looking back it was the best experience ever. He freed me from so much. Anxiety. Self life. Teaching me what it means to really put all mh trust in Him!
Most preaching today stops at 'getting people into heaven.'
Jesus focussed proportionately more on 'getting heaven into people'.
Anyone who is tired of themselves - plagued by their self-will and tired of sin, comes to Him whose burden is light and yoke is easy.
His Word and Spirit inside people could do what the law could never do. It could not judge the thoughts and intents of the heart.
It could not expose the lusts within the flesh and stop them from conceiving sin; that is why the law was weak because of the flesh.
Jesus spoke about faithfulness within, righteousness within, being cleansed within... possessing the Kingdom of God WITHIN.
A new higher standard than the law... but how are we to manage that? He sent a Helper, and just as He, according to the flesh, learned obedience by what He suffered, the same Spirit leads us in the same way.
If we walk in the Spirit, even if we stumble at first, even a lot, yet our attitude of mind is to keep His word, loving the truth and never falling into hypocrisy - there is no condemnation, for we are in Christ.
In this Spirit, we lay hold of the life that was in Christ, eternal life.
Getting 'heaven' into people is getting people into heaven.
We should speak faith and obey the Spirit in our lives, taking heed to ourselves and the doctrine - in doing this, we save ourselves and those who hear us.
When Christ's Word takes root inside and the Spirit brings about rebirth from within, our course is set for Heaven, and His Kingdom grows daily as we walk in the Spirit - we are renewed and transformed inwardly, and people experience new life from us outwardly.
When He who is our life returns, He will establish His Kingdom on earth - and the Spirit that ruled in us will rule on the earth for 1000 years, and then on the new heaven and new earth!
We should every day take up our cross.
Where my old man (old life, self life, sin/flesh) is crucified. It is considered dead.
Every day the Holy Spirit shows me more of this old man which I was not aware of before.
To the cross with that right there & then!
Then this becomes true: Dead to sin, alive to Christ. Rom 6:11.
