DBI's been busy! Some of the monitoring team went to Wellington to meet a delegation of disabled people and allies from South Korea. Last night, Lydie and Umi from the Ōtepoti office attended the New Zealand Down Syndrome Achievement Awards & had a fantastic time!

It's always a pleasure to talk with @DrGiselaSole and in Podcast #6 we discuss the #glassshoulder - a paper we recently published on the psychological impact of a shoulder dislocation. Join us on Spotify, YouTube, Apple and https://t.co/C97bGi2OhF for this episode
Do people with traumatic shoulder dislocation suffer from socio-emotional feelings? 🧐
Yes 👉 Most participants in this qualitative study described an ongoing interplay between fear and confidence!
Recurrences can lead to Frustration! 👀
Support towards these feelings by healthcare professionals is therefore important! 👌👌

Incredibly grateful to @DrGiselaSole for this fabulous piece of work exploring the impact of shoulder dislocation-I had wanted to learn about fear of reinjury, and was enormously humbled to learn from the participants about the social isolation, sleep deprivation and frustration
What a privilege - I am ever so grateful for the opportunity to present @IFOMPT2024! Enjoyed a wonderful conference with thought-provoking presentations in lovely Basel.
Its been a pleasure @IFOMPT2024 and Switzerland. Thank you @NZMPA1 , Stanley Paris and Catherine Patla, Division of Health Sciences, and PNZ Otago Branch for making this possible. Very special mention to my wife for looking after the kids! Dad duties for a decade. @OtagoCHARR
