A patient died during a mattress change.
They were in the last days of life and the request was for an urgent dynamic air mattress because they were โend of lifeโ.
It prompted an important reflection ๐งต
Another reflection:
Clinicians often seem comfortable supporting a younger dying person to remain in their own bed.
Yet older people are often more quickly moved into a hospital-style set-up.
Why is that?
Our South West Optimised Care Network Group is inviting members to join our workspace on NHS Futures. More info will be added to this space in the coming months.
Excellent day today with @a1risksolutions and etac, dhg, Arjo, seating matters, five, winncare considering all things for the plus size individual. Def more confident now and some great networking and familiar faces
@sharrond62 I can absolutely confirm our phones listen as was recently discussing a book with my daughter about a 16yr old wanting to end his life and a message popped up on my phone asking if I needed help and a number to call NHS for suicide prevention ๐ฌ
@spenley Subscribed and all the best. I like the suggestion of a new show called double click. Who needs BBC now anyway. Think their licence feeing days might be a thing of the past soon!
@FoxleyHannah@UHSFT@theRCOT Well deserved Hannah as itโs no mean feat to adopt proportionate care in an acute setting and you and your team are proof it can be done. Huge congratulations xx
