People literally write on their timeline that Dawkins saved their lives.
When the morphine wears down,& you realize we’ll get less than we traded for AD & the opportunity cost hurt us more.
And then you’ll have no choice to
acknowledge that Ted & Little Dictator got you locked
Former NFL WR James Jones thinks the Steelers should trade for Jets WR Garrett Wilson: “I believe they’re a piece away. They’re playing really good defense… I believe they are a receiver away from really being contenders. I think they are a receiver away from being true contenders to go compete and win a Super Bowl. When I say missing piece, I’m talking about a Garrett Wilson… I’m more looking for a bona fide number one… I’m talking about a big-time splash.” #Steelers #NFL
How dominant has the #Steelers defensive line been?
Pittsburgh ranks 1st in the NFL with just 119 total yards before contact allowed on the ground. That’s 0.7 yards per carry before contact, also the best mark in the league.
@jack_sperry MPJ is def gone by then so there are savings there. I think DK is gone in 2028 off-season. My only concern is concussion history but otherwise I would invest in him as my WR 1.
If Ladd McConkey is actually available via trade this year, IMO that should be PIT's #1 WR trade target, even if it ends up costing a 2nd round pick.
Ladd is only 25 & would be the perfect compliment to DK & Germie because he is an excellent route runner with inside/outside flexibility.
What seperates him vs. a guy like Josh Downs for me is that McConkey is a bonafide 3-level separator & brings more of a true vertical threat presence than what Downs would bring to the table.
The tricky part with trading for Ladd is the higher price tag + the fact that he's gonna want an absolute bag next offseason in a new contract extension. With PIT already having a number of players they'd probably like to extend next offseason, do they really want to add another guy to that list that is going to command a very large contract in the years to come?
Maybe PIT would rather go with a guy like Downs who will cost less to acquire in the short-term & less expensive to keep around in the long-term, or maybe they'd rather have more of a true 1-year rental like Chris Godwin for a mid-day 3 pick.
But if PIT is looking for someone who could potentially be their WR1 of the future & move the needle towards title contention here in 2026, McConkey may just be worth the investment.

Mike DeFabo is not a fan of how the Steelers are using DeShon Elliott upon his return: “It seemed he almost exclusively played that post safety role. I’m not saying that he’s not versatile enough to play center field. The problem I have is, it’s like you’re taking away what makes him special. He was nearly a Pro Bowler in 2024 because of what he did near the line of scrimmage. The blitzing, the run support, all that type of stuff. Yes, he can play center field. Yes, he’s versatile enough to do it. But I just feel like you’re kind of wasting it.” #Steelers #NFL
