@MikeHowton@edgarrmcgregor How did they even gather this data. You are just sharing a picture of a graph without any context. I'm smart enough to know that I can't convince you there is a problem, but just look outside and at the news and ask yourself, do these events seem normal?
@coconut_hooves@tagdemnbagdem@Knifiel@edgarrmcgregor It's not about guilting each other. It's about spreading the facts so that you have the tools to also share this information. The more voices that speak out about these devastating events happening around the globe, the more likely something will actually change
🧵Since it is becoming hard to track, here is a thread of the simply astounding weather records planet Earth has started shattering in recent weeks:
1. Dramatic flood events have begun striking various countries around the world simultaneously this week.

Between NYC in wildfire smoke and this in PR, it bears repeating how unprepared we are for the climate crisis.
We must adapt our food systems, energy grids, infrastructure, healthcare, etc ASAP to prepare for what’s to come and catch up to what is already here. #GreenNewDeal 🌱
@MapleSyru_p @PeterWelch How many of those employees are making enough to support themselves and their families without having to work overtime or another job though?
Holy cow, 9 years of Direfall?? Happy Anniversary, @Direwolf20 & @pahimar !

@tyco19691 @PeterWelch What's the point of having the strongest military in the world when most people that serve in that military can't even get a job that pays well enough to live or for the healthcare they need after that service? Doesn't seem very pro american
@tyco19691 @PeterWelch Bro, have you seen the Russian "threat" recently in Ukraine. Their military is a mess. They are pull WW2 tanks out from storage just to maintain any level of artillery power because they dont have enough munitions. Hard-working Vermonters deserve better health care
@Charles_Root @PeterWelch I don't mean to be antagonistic, but just compare it to your own life. We're winters always this muddy with multiple thaws happening throughout. We're summers always this hot. It's obvious it's getting worse and you can't blame the sun for it
@Charles_Root @PeterWelch You do realize that over the past 30 years, the old ice caps have reduced in size by 95%. Greenhouse gasses trap heat. That's what allows us to have a liveable atmosphere, but too much causes temperatures to rise, which they have. It's not scaremongering, it's science.
