If Brown truly wanted out of Boston then their hands were tied..
BUT..
You f*ckin' trade him to our most heated rival in the East, and we get PG13 (who I like) and NOT Maxey??
I feel a lot of dread creeping in. Just have a feeling Brown is going to torch us for the next 5yrs
@FCHWPO thank you for everything you've done for Boston the past decade, most notably bring home the title in 2024. You will be sorely missed...
My initial reaction...
I. Hate. This.
Likely a TON of behind-the-scenes drama we don't know about yet, but this wasn't salvageable?
@hotsakenjoyer@SpinninBackfist As for the "heart pumping" part, right there with you again...
I have not been that nervous since probably McGregor v. Poirier 2 (big Diamond fan), and it only got more intense as it went on once we started to see that Gaethje might actually pull this fuckin' thing off..
@hotsakenjoyer@SpinninBackfist THIS!
I was the "best-man" in a wedding this past Sat, and ALL weekend long, I was saying "please watch the WhiteHouse card. Just give it a chance..."
Many in the group don't watch. Others letdown in the past when I hype up an event
Everyone texted afterwards "I am now a fan"
@VivaLaStool@wakeupbarstool@Return_Of_RB Glad I decided to look at the comments before replying because, like most of you, "Nadu" instantly popped in my head.
Some sort of "Weekend Retreat" with Nadu where Rico is not allowed to "walk out", verbally insult, or physically make contact with Nadu.
Make a documentary of it
@RobbyBerger@ohwowthejet If you are looking for something that is intense and still resonates to this very day, then "CitizenFour" will take you for a ride.
This isn't just a documentary made "after the fact", it covers Snowden's "whistle-blowing" as it unfolds in real time.
@calebpressley@danawhite@Underdog How did Caleb miss the softball Dana served up when asking about if they'll be watching from the "4k seats or the 85k seats" and Dana replied with "You'll be watching at home on PPV"
Caleb should've countered with "or StreamEast..." haha
@ForePlayPod Tip of the hat
Can only imagine what the past week has been for this guy, especially considering he brought it upon himself
He responded the correct way
"Embarrassment" can be the best learning tool, speaking from personal experience
Hope others can also learn from it
@TheArtOfWar6@freiguy
L-Town Olympics 2026
@BrentRussum vs the other 9 of us... and we use the "random wheel" to determine which *Round* you have to step in against the giant f*ck 😂
Russ gets "1" point for each KO / TKO
Other 9 gets "1" for surviving, "3" for knockdown, "5" for KO / TKO
Final thoughts:
I'll be the 1st to raise my hand and admit I was wrong. I was a bit surprised when I saw Volk was the "favorite" going in to this.
Like we've seen so many times, when a dominate champion finally gets dethroned, they usually fall off a cliff, and I expected that
It's only April, but IMHO, that is the front runner for 2025 "Fight of the Year".
I *think* Volk won it 48 - 47, but we're about to find out.
Lopes is so fun to watch. Guy took some of Volk's best shots straight to the chin, and look like it barely phased him.
I don't know about the 49 - 46 scorecard, because Lopes, in my opinion, looked more "dangerous" in Rds #3, #4 and #5, but regardless, his future is very bright.
As for Volk.... YES!!!
This has to be feel AMAZING for him.
I want to be like Alex Volkanovski when I grow up..
This man gave his heart, body & soul to the UFC, and MMA in general.
In a sport like MMA that is bursting with ego and tough guys, all you ever heard were good things and high praise for this man.
Thank you Ruthless for sacrificing your body for our entertainment.
HOF inbound
Man, you just gotta feel for Jiri there.
I can only imagine everything he has gone through in the past 18 months, with 2 KO / TKO losses to Pereira.
To get that KO over Hill (always tough opponent), has to instill some confidence back in Jiri.
♥️
So ready for UFC309 "Main Card" right now.
I hope it delivers, as these PPVs at Madison Square Garden just always seem to do so every November.
Unlikely, but a Miocic KO over Jones to win back heavyweight title would change the legacy of both men's careers.
