Washington Warriors RB Josiah Dickerson is a standout: 1,778 yds (10yds per carry) 22 rushing TDs with 8 Rec/202 yds 2TDs in 2025 as a sophomore. But his story spans far beyond the football field, it is full of hope and inspiration.

“I'm more than a football player, and that my story doesn't define everything about me. Even when you start from the bottom, God knows a way to get you out of it.”

Josiah Dickerson’s story goes far beyond the football field. Josiah spent the first few years of his life in an orphanage in Accra, Ghana, until Bernard Fianku got him out of the orphanage and helped get him to the United States and to his parents, Kevin and Angie Dickerson, in 2013.

“I just knew like something has a shield over me… I would not have gotten out without God. It's really shocking how lucky I was and it's all glory to him every day that I'm living here.”

“I'm more than a football player, and that my story doesn't define everything about me. Even when you start from the bottom, God knows a way to get you out of it. And be the best version of yourself.”
