@Airdropdeez@FutureEconScot@L__Macfarlane There is cooperate welfare too, a lot of the top 2% will own businesses that got gov money during covid, a lot of them will own businesses that have received government grants, so they do also get something back, they just dont get any of the means-tested safety net money
@pbtatmfmm@elonmusk They probably redefined grooming gangs to include all organised groups targeting children, a grooming gang was distinct from a paedophile ring and there has been a push to conflate them
Also, the country is 83% white, and 2.5% Pakistani, proportionality should be considered
@ZShack90 @wholemars@elonmusk It's not that bad
Sure some of it is fairly simple and may not look like much, mince 'n' tatties (ground beef in a thick onion gravy with mashed potatoes), corned beef hash (mashed potatoes with corned beef and onion in it), beans on toast, etc. but they're delicious and filling
@wholemars@elonmusk Better yet we could be a few States, 3 of the 4 countries in the UK do already have devolved governments that are sort of like state governments
@JonSweetfoxVR@HW_Helser@ksorbs@BraedenSorbo Not just the Civil War, they were Democrats all through Jim Crow as well.
This did change during the great depression the Dems saw an opportunity to secure the black vote and changed face, so a lot of their old voters started voting for the relatively unchanged Republicans.
@elonmusk Doesn't looting require some sort of emergency by definition?
TBH I think this is more just clunky/redundant wording, it's like talking about "intentional murder"
@Kelly_BurkBoyd@elonmusk@Lord_Talbot64 It's untrue, probably just based on people who take part in yougov surveys (predominantly left) or the elite, most people really like him
@lporiginalg It still shocks me that there are places where this is still legal, but it's not surprising that the US is one of them
In most countries, the basic payment on any conventional loan is always more than the interest
@wedigja @elonmusk The amount of money he gives to certain kinds of organisations (eg the people smugglers that operate in the Mediterranean while pretending to be charities, fortunately, southern Europe is getting wise and places like Italy won't let the ships disembark their haul anymore)
@benonwine I would but British Prime Ministers aren't elected like that
The British Prime Minister is more akin to your house majority leader
Also Trump is half-British, I live in the same part of the UK that his mother grew up in so even if being British was a requirement he would qualify
@b4sed7 I wouldn't go as far as banning them, but they should be at least equal treatment.
There is a two-tier system where they can chant for ethnic cleansing "from the river to the sea" with impunity while calling for these pro-Hamas savages to be deported can land you in prison.
@EuropeInvasionn Trump was in favour of legally recognising gay marriage decades before most Democrats, in what way is he homophobic?
The only thing I can think of is that perhaps he meant to say transphobic?
