@NextBestPicture Watched it in July at the @nzff fest here in Aotearoa New Zealand. A remarkable work of art, suspense, thriller, cine-history, crime story, action/chase wrapped up in a nostalgic love story celebrating the movies. It just has to be seen in cinemas on the biggest screens possible
@janusfilms Man! That screening recently @nzff was beautiful, intense, full of so much content and detail not to mention epic. Watched it on a huge screen with an audience of over 700 cinephiles. What’s your next project and approximately when will you complete it? Respect.🫡
For those unaware of how amazing Tatsuya Nakadai was, here's my favorite quote from Akira Kurosawa himself about how he nailed one of the greatest shots in film history in a single take. What a legend
Tatsuya Nakadai, veteran Japanese actor, passes away at 92
Japanese film legend Tatsuya Nakadai, best known for his haunting turn as Hidetora Ichimonji in 1985’s 'Ran', his fierce performance in 1962’s 'Harakiri' and his breakout role in 'The Human Condition' (1959-61), has died at the age of 92. The cause of death was reported as complications from pneumonia while hospitalized in Tokyo.
