We say their names and remember the sacredness of their lives.

This was not only a mass shooting. It was a heinous act of white supremacy carried out in a house of worship. We must tell the truth about that hatred, grieve what it stole, and remain committed to dismantling the violence of racism in every form.

🚨 “Lenient” sentence: Former mayor sentenced to just 90 days in jail after raping her son’s 16-year-old friend at a party.

Misty Roberts, the former mayor of DeRidder, Louisiana, was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The crimes happened at a July 2024 party at her home where Roberts provided alcohol to teens, including her own son and his friends. She had raped one of the 16-year-old boys upstairs in the game room. Witnesses, including her son and nephew, saw them through the blinds. The victim was drunk and later realized what had happened. Roberts told the kids to lie or be quiet about it.

A DoorDash delivery of Plan B was made to her address days later. Her ex-husband testified she admitted raping the boy and getting caught.

Judge Kent Savoie gave her five years on each charge to run concurrently but suspended the prison time. Instead she got 90 days in jail, a $5,000 fine, and five years of probation.

The judge said he did not believe Roberts took full responsibility — she minimized her actions and to some extent blamed the victim.

Prosecutors had asked for the maximum sentence and called the outcome lenient. The victim’s family described her as a predator and said the teen has suffered panic attacks, missed school, and faced ridicule.

Another elected official who preyed on a teenager gets a slap on the wrist.

When will adults in positions of power who rape minors face real prison time instead of 90 days in jail?

🚨 HORRIFIC: Cheating husband beat his wife to death with a barbell and confessed in an email to their children.

Michael A. Kless murdered his wife Stacy Epstein-Kless in the basement of their home. Police found her with a heavy weightlifting barbell across her throat and neck.

Kless had been having an affair with a Central American woman. After the killing, he emailed their two adult children, confessed to the crime in detail that matched the scene, blamed it on his “long-simmering hatred” for his wife, and said he planned to kill himself.

He later told his daughter he was at a rest stop in Sayreville trying to overdose. Officers found him unconscious and hospitalized him in critical condition before arresting him.

Kless and Stacy had been married since 1987. A work crew that arrived the morning she was found reported he had blood and a scratch on his face and tried to reschedule their appointment.

He is charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses.

Kim West gave birth to Ben Ford in California when she was just 19. She placed him for adoption a week later and returned to the UK. Over three decades passed with no contact.

In 2013-2014, Ben — adopted, married, and living in Colorado tracked down his biological mother. They met in person and the relationship quickly turned sexual.

Ben later told his wife Victoria that their encounters were so “mind-blowing” he could no longer be intimate with her unless he imagined she was his mother.

He soon left his marriage and moved in with his mother kim in Michigan.

The pair claimed it wasn’t incest but “Genetic Sexual Attraction” a disputed idea that relatives separated at birth can feel overwhelming attraction upon reunion. They said they were “meant to be together,” never saw each other as parent and child, and even talked about marrying and having kids.

Under Michigan law, consensual adult incest is a serious felony carrying up to 15 years in prison and lifetime sex offender registration. Amid public outrage, they withdrew from the spotlight.
