They moved our closing date AGAIN.

We have rescheduled so many times.

We HAVE to close by Friday. We have to be out by Sunday.

This mortgage company is a JOKE.

They actively calculated our income incorrectly for the grants, took ages to get it fixed (manager took a week off in the middle of this crisis on THEIR part), and have given hardly any updates. We wouldn’t have even known it finally made it to the underwriter today if my realtor didn’t check in.

Then the manager’s manager chimes in on the email chain with her underlines and italics quoting policy at us and saying how they aren’t provided updates and they can’t do anything basically but sit there with their thumb up their butt staring at their inbox waiting for updates.

DHI Mortgage is a freaking joke.

No compensation offered for THEIR mistake either.

DR Horton’s contractor didn’t want to listen to a third party inspector with an infrared camera that showed blatant hotspots and told me he’s “not gonna rip open a wall to check for insulation I know is there,” and he’d get an infrared camera. I reminded him they used one, he goes “oh yeah I saw that. Well we will check it.”

They painted our door the wrong color, installed a twisted wall, cracked the wall, forgot to put 2 inches of insulation in the ceiling, FORGOT A LIGHT IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM, didn’t put down cardboard on our vinyl floors so they’ve gotten paint all over them and worn work boots grinding in dirt into our floors for a month now. Left bootprints in our cement walkway. Marked the wrong plot on the appraisal.

The list goes on.

I’m so done. We’ve been so disrespected, disregarded, belittled, pushed aside, and ignored more than I can count.

DR Horton’s own general contractor told us when he had the opportunity to refinance his home with DHI Mortgage when they had a low rate, he DECLINED his own sister company because he HEARD ABOUT THEIR REPUTATION AND DECIDED TO USE SOMEONE ELSE.

DR Horton and DHI Mortgage are a joke. They don’t care about their customers. They just care about the next sale.

They’re being sued for installing/sealing windows incorrectly in an entire neighborhood and it caused damage to all the homes they built. They refuse to take accountability for anything.

DR Horton was a name that used to mean quality. “America’s Builder.”

Guess it makes sense with the way the American economy is falling apart for the middle class.

Have some freaking pride in your own words and work, DR Horton.

You better believe I’ll be writing to the BBB after it’s all said and done.
