Pupils from Dosbarth Barri (SRB) enjoyed their first 'Welly Wednesday' session in Buckholt Woods this week. The pupils made natural crowns. We are very grateful to Buckholt Bryngaer CIC for offering us use of their shelter.
Dosbarth Bracelet loved developing a range of oracy, mathematical and entrepreneur skills this week as part of our enterprise week. We set up a bracelet shop at our school enterprise event. @EAS_Numeracy #enterprisingcreativecontributors
Great to be invited by @MonmouthshireCC to celebrate the transformation of the area by the river. Fantastic to see how our planting had contributed to making a difference to our local community. It was lovely to see so many of our families there too.
What a fantastic assembly for our Adventurers and Discoverers phases and our Head and Deputy head students welcomed the chance to discuss fair trade with Jenipher. Thank you @HazelClatworthy for arranging this visit.
Dosbarth Caswell had an amazing time at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm today. We saw lots of wonderful animals and took part in a 'Save our Species' workshop where we consolidated and extended our learning on endangered animals.
The children in Dosbarth Caswell have been inspired to show what they would like to see in Drybridge Park after our assembly last week. We have now passed these on to Mr Sweeney who will take them to the next meeting.
We had a great time learning about Fairtrade at the Fairtrade conference this week. Thank you to all those involved in organising from Fairtrade teams @sizeofwales and @maryannbwales. A big thank you @sumchey for taking our letter about Fairtrade food at school to the council.
This week, Dosbarth Caswell created a Google slide in Welsh about their favourite animal. They changed font styles, colours and sizes, changed background colours, inserted at least one image and then emailed it to Mrs Roberts. π
A huge thank you to 'Spirit of Monmouth Running Club' for raising Β£750 for the SRB's charity, 'Meeting the Needs'. The money will be used to purchase new PE equipment for pupils in the Specialist Resource Base. π
The pupils of Overmonnow Specialist Resource Base thoroughly enjoyed their visit from 'Bubbly Heaven' this week. The pupils were popping big bubbles, small bubbles and making their own bubbles.
Mrs Roberts has been reading Dosbarth Caswell The Magic Faraway Tree collection of stories at the end of each day. The children have been inspired by the book to create their own magical lands and write about them. I am very proud of them.
