If APPLE still needs visibility, who exactly do you think you are? 😂

Apple launched the new iPhone 18 series and the iPhone Duo two days ago, and as expected, the internet went crazy

But what caught my attention wasn’t even the phones

It was what happened AFTER the launch

Samsung started throwing shade at Apple 😂

Then Duolingo joined the conversation because Apple named its new foldable phone “Duo” 😂

And just like that, you had Apple trending, Samsung talking, Duolingo talking, tech creators talking, customers arguing and different communities joining the conversation

Most people look at this and see BANTER

I look at it from a marketing perspective and see something completely different

VISIBILITY

Think about what Samsung did

Millions of people were already paying attention to Apple

Instead of sitting somewhere and allowing Apple to have all that attention, Samsung inserted itself into the conversation

Now Team Apple responds

Team Samsung responds

People quote the posts

People argue about which foldable is better

Tech creators make comparison videos

And Samsung gets even MORE visibility from a product launch that wasn’t even theirs 😂

Duolingo did the same thing

The conversation had absolutely nothing to do with language learning

But there was an opportunity around the word “Duo,” and they took it

That is how brands think

Where is the ATTENTION?

How can we enter the conversation naturally?

How do we get people talking about us?

And there’s another interesting layer to the Apple and Samsung relationship

They are fierce competitors in the smartphone market, but Samsung has also supplied components for Apple products over the years

Business is interesting like that 😂

But don’t misunderstand it

That doesn’t mean the social media shade is secretly planned between them

It simply shows that brands can compete aggressively for customers while still doing business together elsewhere

And the bigger lesson for me is this👇

NO BRAND OUTGROWS THE NEED FOR VISIBILITY

Apple is already one of the biggest companies in the world

Everybody knows Apple

Yet when they launch a new product, they don’t quietly put it on their website and wait for people to discover it

They create an EVENT, they build anticipation, they get the media involved, they get creators talking

Samsung is already one of the biggest smartphone brands in the world

Yet they still jump into a competitor’s trending conversation to make sure people are talking about Samsung too

Duolingo already has a massive online presence

Yet they saw an opportunity to join the conversation and took it

Why?

Because being KNOWN doesn’t mean you stop trying to be SEEN

And somehow, you have a business with 300 followers and you’ve decided you don’t like posting 😂

You have a skill nobody knows about

You have an offer you barely talk about

You have a business and you’re waiting for customers to magically discover you

My dear, COME OUTSIDE 😂

Talk about what you do

Show your work

Join relevant conversations

Share your results

Talk about your offer

Make some noise around what you’re building

Because no matter how good you are, people need to KNOW YOU EXIST before they can buy from you

If Apple, Samsung and Duolingo are still fighting for attention, you definitely haven’t reached the stage where you can afford to be invisible

Take your kids to the best schools.
Eat at the finest restaurants.
Shit in the fanciest toilet.
Sleep on the softest memory foam bed and pillow.
If you come from a place where your passport is at a disadvantage, buy a second citizenship.

There’s no reward for mediocrity or suffering. Life is short. And if you don’t have the money? Don’t settle for mediocre, there’s greatness within everyone.
