Doug Ford’s flippant comments about the Thunder Bay jail were ignorant and completely out of touch.

The jail is overcrowded, understaffed and unsafe. Indigenous people are paying the highest price, and families like Sol Mamakwa’s know the consequences personally.

A coroner’s jury was clear: the jail must close permanently. The Premier should stop dismissing the people who have been sounding the alarm and start listening.
