🚨 BREAKING: Group Sues Tinubu, Seeks Disqualification from 2027 Presidential Election Over Alleged Certificate Forgery

The Centre for Reform and Public Advocacy has filed a lawsuit against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Federal High Court in Kano, seeking his disqualification from the 2027 presidential election over allegations of certificate forgery.

In the suit (FHC/K/CS/312/2026), the group alleges that Tinubu submitted forged academic credentials from Chicago State University and a fake NYSC discharge certificate to INEC during the 2023 presidential election.

INEC and Chicago State University have been joined as co-defendants in the case.

The plaintiff further claims that Tinubu did not attend Government College Lagos as stated in his records and alleges that he lacks a valid secondary school certificate, which is the minimum constitutional requirement for presidential candidates.

The suit seeks a declaration that Tinubu's Chicago State University certificate was forged, an order directing INEC to disqualify him from the 2027 election, and a perpetual injunction preventing his name from being submitted as a presidential candidate.

The group also accused INEC of failing to act on its June 19, 2026 petition requesting clarification on Tinubu's eligibility.

The case is expected to reignite debate over the President's academic records and eligibility ahead of the 2027 elections.
