The Australian volunteer soldier Shane “Mozzie” Bagley has been killed in battle against the Russian Army.

This is what one of his closest brothers-in-arms wrote after the news of his death:

“Mozzie was the bravest soldier I have ever known and my brother.

Mozzie saved countless lives as a combat medic and eliminated multiple enemies.

I witnessed firsthand most of his heroic actions in this war. Very few of us continued wanting to fight after what we had been through, and Mozzie was one of them.

For example, Mozzie took down 4 enemies after they opened fire first and killed his team leader and his best friend.

That led to an uneven battle in which two faced six, and he still won.

He then kept his team leader alive for as long as possible until a vehicle arrived to evacuate him”
