TRAFFIC ADVISORY – DALLAS COWBOYS TRAINING CAMP

Today, Tuesday, 08/18/26, the Dallas Cowboys will host a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints at River Ridge Playing Fields. The practice is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.

A Ventura County man and known member of the Oxnard-based “Colonia Chiques” street gang was sentenced today to 120 months in federal prison for possession of methamphetamine he intended to sell, and illegally possessing firearms. Rodolfo Hernandez, also known as “Creature” and who last resided in Oxnard, was sentenced by United States District Judge Terry Hatter.

Hernandez, who has been in federal custody since September 2024, pleaded guilty on September 15, 2025, to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession of a machine gun, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Hernandez was charged in an indictment returned in 2024 by a federal grand jury in Los Angeles. The indictment alleged that Hernandez, who was a convicted felon, possessed with intent to distribute approximately 98.6 grams of methamphetamine and possessed several firearms, including a .380 ACP caliber pistol machinegun, and 38 rounds of ammunition in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The federal investigation and charges stemmed from state robbery charges which are pending in Ventura County. The investigation into Hernandez was conducted by the Ventura County Violent Crime Task Force, which includes the FBI and the Oxnard Police Department.

Today, we join the Nieves family in mourning the loss of Retired OXPD Commander Rafael "Ralph" Nieves, who peacefully passed away this morning at the age of 74.
