As Nigerians, our tenacity and resilience are both our greatest strength and our greatest flaw. The same qualities that help us endure hardship also make us tolerate far more suffering than we should
After giving it some thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that the only form of protest powerful enough to force the Nigerian government to act right would be a total boycott where everyone just decides to sit at home and do nothing
Of course it’s probably the hardest kind of protest to organize. But if millions of people collectively stopped participating, how exactly would they stop it? They can’t force every citizen out of their homes. The economy could grind to a halt in a matter of days.
But I may be too optimistic to think we could actually pull something like that off, given the tribal, religious and political divisions that exists in the country
You no go take directions from person wey never reach destination you dey try go, so how you go expect person wey never go heaven before to show you how to reach there?
