Wish nothing but the best for my Pacers family this season: those on the court, on the bench and especially those behind the scenes who work hard to make games a special experience for all who attend.
Final stop today on farewell to NBA tour is in Brooklyn and figured I’d get a guy who was with me near the beginning of this career and on the journey this last season, Pacers Coach Rick Carlisle. Many thanks for his friendship over the years.
Next to last stop on Farewell to NBA Tour is in Philadelphia and today’s guest is long-time Pacers’ assistant coach, now with 76ers, Dan Burke. Great coach but even better person and a tremendous friend through the years.
Farewell to NBA Tour, final game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Part 2. You are only as good as your co-workers. Blessed with many over years: Tim, MaryKay, Jeff but these two, Krissy Myers and Wes Kaminski endured these latter years with me. Thanks to all!
Farewell to NBA Tour in Gainbridge Fieldhouse again tonight and had to get a goodbye photo with my road warriors over many years: assistant trainer Carl Eaton and legendary radio man Mark Boyle. We’ve shared beverages, music, debates and a whole lot of laughs. Love these two!
@Pacers and @ReggieMillerTNT I can’t express enough thanks for a special day Sunday. It was humbling, emotional and overwhelming. I have been blessed to work for a tremendous organization the last 28 years that carried me through some tough times but gave me many more great times
Farewell to NBA Tour in Gainbridge Fieldhouse and I can’t thank our owner Herb Simon enough for putting up with me first as a beat writer back in 1983 and later as an employee of a first-class organization.
Also while in Boston on NBA Farewell Tour spent some time with a familiar Indiana face, Celtics head of basketball operations Brad Stevens. We did not discuss the Butler job opening.
Farewell to NBA Tour stops in Boston where I hooked up with long time mentor, Celtics’ PR honcho Jeff Twiss. Taught me many valuable lessons that allowed me to endure for many years. Jeff one of the best in all of sports. We did not set the pregame mood lighting.
Farewell to NBA Tour stops in Atlanta where good friend, and even better person, Nate McMillan, coaches the Hawks. Truly enjoyed our time when he was with the Pacers as first, an assistant, then later as head coach.
Tonight, farewell to NBA Tour stops in Cleveland where a fellow NBA veteran, Kevin Love, resides. 14 seasons, NBA title, Olympic gold medal, 5-time All-Star and another player who I have great respect for on and off the court despite the fact he usually kicks Pacers’ behinds.
Farewell to NBA Tour stops in Dallas and recognized this guy from TV. Also cool that Mark Cuban owns an NBA team and, importantly, is a Indiana University alum.
