🎉Exciting day in Omel Sub-county, Gulu!
On 25th November, 2025, the EU-funded project ‘Breaking the Cycle: Prevention & Response to Teenage Pregnancy’, implemented by PACE, was officially launched by the Resident City Commissioner as part of the 16 Days of Activism against GBV.
The vision for the National Plan of Action for Sexual and Gender-Based Violence( 2018-2030) is, “A Uganda in which all people are free from all forms of violence and discrimination for a healthy and productive life.
As PACE Uganda we continue to push towards this goal.
#EndGBV
Intimate partner violence remains prevalent with an estimated 44% of married women reporting violence.
This is a reminder of the scale of gender inequality and discrimination against women.
#NoExcuse#ENDViolence#EndGBV
The three root causes of gender-based violence include: gender inequality, abuse of power and violation of human rights.
These causes must be at the heart of intervention strategies to reduce gender-based violence against women in Uganda.
#NoExcuse#EndGBV
@UN defines violence against women as any act of violence that results in physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion, or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life.
#NoExcuse#EndGBV
Gender Based Violence can occur in dating, marriage, schools, workplaces, communities and families.
GBV is therefore everyone’s business: families, communities and leaders have a role in preventing violence against all women and girls.
#NoExcuse#EndGBV#16DaysOfActivism
One of PACE Uganda’s core mandates is to address gender-related structural vulnerabilities through the provision of client-centered GBV programs and the adoption of comprehensive approaches that transform harmful social norms and empower women and girls.
