Wanted to express my gratitude to our team here in @TownofLincolnON!! Tonight at Council we were the recipient of the Water and Energy Efficiency Award, which is an annual award presented by the @OWWA1 Ontario Water Works Association’s Water Efficiency Committee to highlight innovative and transferable projects or programs. Awarded projects show innovation, clearly defined goals and objectives, quantitative and qualitative savings for the municipality and the community they serve, as well as successful overall project or program delivery. The Town of Lincoln has combined monitoring of the distribution system using hydrants and advanced metering technology to successfully reduce overall water loss to just below 10%. The AMI meters have improved meter read accuracy while the hydrants improved leak response times, system operations and informs a proactive flushing and testing program. The Town was also able to reduce the number of leak abatement requests from 45 to 15 in a single year. Here to present the award was Mackenzie Shultz, Supervisor of Water and Wastewater Technical Services, Oxford County, and Tara Clayton, Market Leader, Water, from Ulteig, and accepting the award will be our Associate Director of Public Works, Gillian Harris. #LincolnON
