Another milestone for my #NFSU2 #PSVita port!

G439 reached 467 verified routes and 6.02M host dispatches. More importantly, the original Vertex Shader 1.1 bytecode is now being executed, calculating positions, colors and UVs!

Next up: pixel shaders, texturing and actual triangle rendering. Getting closer to the first real frame!

Progress update on my #NeedForSpeedUnderground2 (#NFSU2) port for #PSVita!

The custom x86-to-ARMv7 recompiler has reached verified checkpoint G403, with 431 translated routes and 5,170,913 guest dispatches in the PC-side runtime.

The native ARMv7 build is also running in #Vita3K, where the latest controlled emulator test recorded 1.7 million dispatches. A stable game boot is still ahead.

I've also been optimizing the recompilation pipeline. A targeted cache improvement reduced lookup time across 64 verified routes from 51.02 seconds to just 0.80 seconds on the same 76 MB generated source. That's a major improvement for this specific operation, not a claim about overall build speed.

And here's where things get interesting:

The host runtime has already processed 11,611 DrawPrimitiveUP calls and 714 Present calls from the original game. Actual game pixels aren't being rendered yet, but these calls give us a concrete foundation for implementing the missing graphics pipeline.

The next major milestone is clear: getting the first authentic NFSU2 frame rendered through the port.

Still a lot of work ahead, but the progress is real and reproducible.

I've built the first test VPK and started #Vita3K tests.
Remember: I'm recompiling the original PC game for native PS Vita execution, not recreating it or using #OpenUG2.
The goal: NFSU2 as you know it. Screenshots once I reach the main menu.

NFSU2 PS Vita port update!

My x86-to-ARM recompiler now reaches VP6 video file access during boot. I'm currently debugging Win32 CreateFileA and security attributes to resolve the blocker and push the boot process further.

Remember the good old ICQ days playing Slide-A-Lama? And those even better days with the Amiga and Workbench?

My first computer was an Amiga 4000. I built my personal playground https://t.co/9TgA6ixqnA as a tribute to it, with the classic Workbench 1.3 look. 💙

I also recreated ICQ’s Slide-A-Lama as Slide-A-Box, complete with pixel art, a CPU opponent and 1v1 online multiplayer.

The site is available in German and English. Grab a friend, give it a try and let me know what you think!

This was never just about NFSU2 on the PS Vita.

What I’m building is a complete x86 → ARMv7 recompiler. NFSU2 is driving its development, but the bigger goal is a real tool that runs locally on my own machine and can recompile other x86 games for the Vita too, without relying on AI for the actual recompilation process.

If the hardware can handle a game, I want the recompiler to give it a chance.

If things seem quiet lately, that’s usually a good sign.

I’m still actively working on this every day. Sometimes I hit really hard problems that take much longer to solve than expected. It can be frustrating, but I’m not going anywhere.

I’ll keep pushing through.

V19S is a real step forward for the NFSU2 recompilation.

The game now runs deeper through the recompiled code, and I've isolated a faulty memory read that's blocking further progress. Next step is fixing that path.

@komal_uk01 Use a decent Linux distribution based on Arch instead of Kali, before you go hacking 127.0.0.1.

[PacmanicS @PacmanicS]

Built an "Army of Agents" into the recompiler: parallel workers scout history, runtime code and frontier semantics, then report back to one fail-closed commander.

Faster progress without relaxing verification. 🤞

V15O is now in resumable, practically unbounded autodig mode. Letting it chew through NFSU2 for the next few hours until it hits the next real frontier.

@yourbandicoot Good luck :)

[PacmanicS @PacmanicS]

V14G moved the NFSU2 recompiler into a new startup state: host-backed game files now load correctly and execution reaches significantly deeper into the game before the next runtime barrier.

Asked #ChatGPT: "who is pacmanics?"

Well... apparently I’m a security risk now. 😂

Asked Gemini one simple question: "Who is pacmanics?"

Apparently the answer now includes my NFSU2 PS Vita recompiler, Arch Linux/AUR work and https://t.co/6mZ3pMBAEd.

Kinda surreal seeing an AI describe a project I've worked on for weeks.
