It is actually exceptionally fair. Our nation must stop demonizing & ultimately punishing success. It sure isn’t fair that the top 1% of income earners pay over 40% of the tax bill each year. Just stop with the identity politics crap. Celebrate success. Encourage it. If necessary charge a consumption based tax, which like many states, would exempt food purchases. Then you can choose your buy stuff or not. THAT IS FAIR!

Ideally, though, the federal government would get all of its operating cash from tariffs. That is exactly how it used to function - 100% of revenue generated was from tariffs alone!
