@Some_Eventful A10: Extremely lucky to have a family that got me into fishing, canoeing, camping at a very young age. Not a lot of people are that fortunate and I’m really grateful WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A8: I wouldn’t say I have one instance that tops them all; more like a Greatest Hits of different scenarios that were miserable. Weather, terrain, people, etc. Makes you appreciate the easier moments on other trips. #WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A7: Can I count the province as a resource? You could spend a full lifetime outdoors in Ontario and barely scratch the surface of everything it has to offer. We’re a damn lucky bunch. #WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A6: Probably being able to paddle a canoe solo. I’ve never had to cancel a trip because of odd numbers in a group, last minute dropouts, etc. Everyone should make the effort to learn. #WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A5: Post-Labour Day/Pre Ice-in. Still warm enough to swim comfortably, no bugs, no people, cool nights for sleeping, changing colours…I could go on for a while #WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A4: Probably the Pukaskwa Coastal Trail. Thankful I hiked it when I did due to my hips and knees no longer being compatible with Lake Superior backpacking haha #WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A3: Compass. Got turned around on a really long portage during late fall (solo) and the fallen leaves completely covered any trace of a trail. Saved my butt. #WeGetOutside
@Some_Eventful A2: avoided getting one for the longest time, but I upgraded from a SPOT to an InReach. Just having a semi-reliable wind forecast on longer trips is such a huge advantage with bigger water crossings #WeGetOutside
I received a package yesterday from @Paddle__In! The Paddle In group share a lot of great photos, stories, and videos from their outdoor adventures. I got to meet Shawn Ryder, one of the members, this past summer at @SamdeChamPP. Thanks for the stickers and buff Paddle In!
