Two-time Olympic triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee has retired. We'll never forget the time he gave up a chance to a win race to help his brother Jonny cross the line 👏
Netanyahu cheapens the concept of antisemitism to try to save himself. At a point when Jews around the world need to rally support against antisemitism, Netanyahu throws them under the bus by equating antisemitism with criticism of his own war crimes. https://t.co/uafHQ5WRDT
Gisèle Pelicot finished taking the stand in mass rape trial against 51 men, and said the "macho, patriarchal society that trivialises rape" must change. What this woman has done for history and women is astounding, her courage unfathomable, no honour is too great. MERCI 💙🤍♥️
Gisele Pelicot’s final statement about her filmed, drugged, unconscious rape by 51 men:
"It's time that the macho, patriarchal society that trivialises rape changes…It's time we changed the way we look at rape.”
“I’ve lost 10 years of my life…This scar will never heal.”
Gisèle Pelicot is on the stand today and asked about her decision to continue using the surname "Pelicot".
Gisèle explains that when the trial began her children were "ashamed" of the name.
She adds: "I have grandchildren who are called that.
"Today, I want them to be proud of their grandmother.
"My name is known across the world now. They shouldn't be ashamed of carrying that name.
"Today we will remember Gisèle Pelicot."
Yes we will. What a woman.

Imagine if this had happened in a residential area of any major capital; the media would be in an uproar. Yet, when it occurs in Lebanon, we are met with silence.

Varisheh Moradi, a Kurdish woman activist, was sentenced to death by Branch 15 of Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Court on Sunday, November 10.
Moradi was violently detained on August 1, 2023, pressured into making forced confessions, and held in solitary confinement for nearly five months.
👉 A source familiar with the case told CHRI that presiding Judge Abolqasem Salavati, a notorious hardline judge nicknamed “the Hanging Judge” for handing down death sentences in political cases, did not allow Moradi or her lawyers to present a defense during her trial.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has a long, well-documented history of targeting activists from the marginalized Kurdish community, frequently leveling politically motivated accusations based on fabricated charges.

Look into her eyes.
The eyes of an Iranian woman – strong, courageous, defying tyranny where the world has looked away.
A gaze that the Tehran regime has decided to extinguish, one morning, at the hour of their prayers.
They are going to execute her. Her name is Varishe Moradi.
Wake up, world. Don’t let bravery die in silence.
