With the next FOMC meeting coming up in a month, let me be clear about somehing.

If the Fed cuts rates by 100 basis points right now, two things happen immediately:

1️⃣ The U.S. saves $300B in interest on its debt.

2️⃣ Short term borrowing becomes cheaper and businesses and consumers borrow more, spend more, and GDP rises.

🔹 This is basic monetary mechanics. Lower the front end of the curve, and you trigger reflexive growth. That growth fuels itself. Even if inflation nudges up a bit, you are expanding your way out of the current fiscal trap.

🔹 If all the numerical and economical justification is there to lower rates, plus it has all of these other positive externalities for the United States economy too, why isn’t it happening?

Because the decision isn’t economic, it’s political. Anyone pretending otherwise is either naive or serving an agenda.

Jerome Powell is running out of time and political capital.

Markets move on rates. Growth moves on credit. The Fed knows this. You should too.
