The People’s Alliance for Governance and Accountability (PAGA) is demanding full disclosure of the transactions and pricing arrangements behind Ghana’s Domestic Gold Purchase Programme.

The group says the reported US$1.7 billion loss in 2025 should not be reduced to a dispute over whether the Bank of Ghana or GoldBod bears the loss, insisting that the key issue is accountability over how public funds were used.

The OSP and Parliament have been urged to investigate allegations of bribery and corruption linked to the AKSA Energy deal.

The call follows evidence from a US criminal prosecution alleging that payments were made to some MPs in connection with the AKSA Emergency Power Agreement.

Private legal practitioner and leader of the People’s Alliance for Accountability and Governance, Daniel Otting Awuah, has also urged the OSP to respond to its RTI request and publish relevant reports and documents shared with US authorities.
