@LottieHoughton@www_pokeball_dk@FBAwayDays Wow, do they have any other major breaks? Surely Christmas? How long are those? In US kids typically get roughly June-August out of school. Plus 2 weeks Christmas break and a week for spring.
@Englishremnant@NWordBiden Were/are there many of this stock who are Catholic? I’ve been wondering how Ulster Catholics during the bad times would have fell. I’d guess loyalist, but not sure.
@shagbark_hick Sounds good I think Hyder would be worth the stop. That’s a place I’d love to visit but idk if I ever will coz of price. My family down south could fly to Europe for the cost of flying to visit me
@shagbark_hick A lot of similarities to where I live in Alaska. Though there is tourism, relatively few locals are involved in the business and they are often somewhat hostile to tourists.
@shagbark_hick I like the idea. Please tell me your radio stations. My village in southeast Alaska used to have a radio station and I loved how eclectic it was. Would go from obscure folk, to Tlingit vocab lesson, to African drums. I remember late at night they’d have like soft spoken yoga talk
@unusual_whales I bet they know exactly what’s going on and are probably complicit. Didn’t the press sec act like she hadn’t heard of this? They’re playing dumb and slow.
@shagbark_hick I live in rural AK and we get mass with a priest once per month. Other Sundays we still meet and do readings and there is an extraordinary minister who serves the Eucharist (something I’m not a fan of). I love living here but I do miss my old church I used to attend.
