I am never going to pretend a man is a Woman because he grows his hair, wears make up & mimics what he thinks is femininity (a social construct, there’s no right way to be a woman). I’m very happy to treat everyone with respect, courtesy & with equality in law. But female things that women have fought tooth & nail for, against huge male dominance, over centuries, belong to females.

A woman believing that sex matters is not dangerous.

Stop demonising ordinary women for asking for boundaries that have existed for generations.

I've lived in Argentina for over 18 years. I'm a migrant here. And I want to say it clearly: Samuel L. Jackson's accusation is false.

I'm not speaking from theory. I'm speaking from the experience of having built a life here, of having been welcomed, integrated, of having seen firsthand what it means to be a country made of migrants.

Let's go over some history, since he brought it up:

🇦🇷 Argentina abolished slavery in 1813 with the Free Womb Law, and definitively in the 1853 Constitution — earlier than much of the continent. This is a country built by receiving waves of immigrants from Italy, Spain, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and today from all over Latin America. Multiculturalism isn't a talking point here, it's the foundation of national identity.

🇺🇸 The United States didn't abolish slavery until 1865, and upheld legal racial segregation (Jim Crow laws) until 1964-65. Less than 65 years ago, that same country had separate bathrooms, schools, and bus seats by skin color.
🇬🇧 England built much of its economic power on the transatlantic slave trade, and its colonial empire left a record of institutional racism across four continents that's still being reckoned with today.

Before pointing fingers, it might be worth looking at your own history. Argentina has its own unresolved issues, like any country — but calling it "the most racist country in the world" isn't criticism, it's misinformation.

Hace unos meses cuando argentinos iniciaron con todos los memes racistas se terminó yendo todo a la mierda, insistían con que era gracioso y "folklore" y literalmente terminamos con una campaña masiva en contra a nivel mundial ENORME y preocupante.
Hay temas con los que no se jode, y el racismo es uno de ellos. No sé cuando lo van a entender!!!!! Quizás porque acá nunca fue algo que derive en muertes y bla, lo minimizan siempre pero afuera, es algo difícil históricamente, muy. Me gustaría saber qué pensaban ese grupito de pelotudos atómicos que iniciaron esto, porque no sólo pasó a ser un problema real que empiecen a tratarnos mal en lugares, sino que periodistas anuncian a nuestra gente y jugadores como tal. Somos sudamericanos, tercermundistas, y mestizos, punto. El racismo es lo que viven del otro lado del charco, o en EE UU. Acá nunca existió.
La campaña contra ARG puede haber sido paga? Obvio. Pero ustedes creen que con todo lo que escribieron no colaboraron?

You're not a woman just bc of your dysphoria. You're not a woman just because you like feminine things. You're not a woman just because you "feel" like a woman. You're not a woman just bc you're on hormones or get plastic surgery.

It's okay to be an effeminate man. You should not be discriminated against or face violence for that.

But gaslighting people and forcing people to play along with lies that you're a woman is insulting to actual women.

Women are biologically female. Men are biologically male. And no amount of mental gymnastics about gender stereotypes, strawmen about intersex-conditions, or shouting about "the evil terfs" will change that.

Me parece un comentario profundamente hipócrita. Es curioso cómo de repente aparecen la defensa de los derechos de las mujeres y de la comunidad LGBT cuando sirven para desacreditar a un país, pero esos mismos temas suelen desaparecer cuando dejan de ser útiles para el argumento. Instrumentalizar problemáticas tan graves para ganar un debate (que solo existe en sus mentes) es una falta de respeto hacia quienes realmente las sufren.

Si de verdad te preocupan los derechos humanos, la indignación debería ser igual de firme en todos los casos y no depender de qué país esté en discusión. Y si vas a abrir el debate sobre los derechos de las mujeres y otras vulneraciones, entonces sé coherente y habla también de las problemáticas que enfrenta Argentina: la violencia de género, los feminicidios, la trata de personas, los abusos sexuales y las dificultades que muchas víctimas siguen encontrando para acceder a la justicia. Ningún país está exento de violaciones a los derechos humanos y unos NUNCA deben invalidar a los otros.

Lo que realmente resulta hipócrita es usar causas tan importantes como un recurso para desacreditar una postura, mientras se ignoran o minimizan cuando ocurren más cerca o cuando no favorecen el discurso propio. Los derechos humanos no son un comodín para debates deportivos y quiero que tengan claro que son principios universales que deben defenderse con el MISMO criterio para TODOS, sin dobles estándares.
