I recently completed my PhD pre-confirmation seminar where I proposed my research project in palaeoecology.
I’m hoping to analyse changes in vegetation pre & post-British Invasion on Butchulla Country at K’gari, and understand whether these changes have influenced fire regimes!
Was privileged to recently attend my first international conference, @InquaRoma2023. A fruitful opportunity, having met so many incredible researchers and learning of their projects. Many thanks to the organisers, and @Melb_Palaeo for so generously supporting this opportunity.
The @SciMelb School of Geography Earth and Atmospheric Sciences crew at the @AusQuaternary conference. For most, our first in person conference since 🦠😷! Great to catch up with old colleagues and new. Loved every minute of it! ❤️ Thanks @zuorui_liu for the 📷! #AQUA22
Finishing off my honours year at #AQUA2022. Great opportunity to present a snippet of my research. Well done and best of luck to my friends and colleagues @magee_harriet @Palaeo_Sheridan @pollenpal@Henriquez_WI@SarahCooleyGeo, and a big thankyou to my supervisor @theotheroad
Great first day at #AQUA2022@AusQuaternary with lots of amazing talks and posters. Shout out to @magee_harriet @PalaeoPeeks for presenting their research on changes in fire regimes and fuel loads since the removal of Aboriginal people across SE Australia @pf_fire
Patrick @PalaeoPeeks & Louisa @Palaeo_Sheridan presented their honours research today 👏. Incredible results of high-resolution palaeoecological records reflective of their hard work and dedication. Well done! 🎉.
What can lake sediments, pollen, trees and charcoal tell us about paleoclimate and past fire events? @theotheroad, @magee_harriet, @pollenpal and @PalaeoPeeks gave the @SciMelb work experience students a whistle-stop tour of the methods they use to reconstruct past environments!
