Tasnim News Agency reported that discussions surrounding a potential US-Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU) suggest the situation in the Strait of Hormuz would not fully return to its pre-war status, despite Western claims of normalization within 30 days.

According to the report, the proposed framework only guarantees a return to pre-war levels of ship traffic within 30 days, while Iran insists it will continue "exercising its sovereign right" over the Strait of Hormuz through measures to be announced later.

Tasnim added that lifting the US naval blockade within 30 days remains a central condition for any change in Hormuz, alongside broader US commitments, including suspending oil sanctions on Iran, releasing part of Iran’s frozen assets, and ending the war "on all fronts, including Lebanon."

The report stressed that Tehran rejected Washington’s attempt to tie the release of Iranian assets to a final nuclear agreement and has "not accepted any measures in the nuclear file at this stage," warning that Iran would reconsider negotiations if the US obstructs implementation of the deal.

Press Statement by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India in Response to the Remarks of the U.S. Secretary of State

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India rejects the recent remarks made by the United States Secretary of State regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran and emphasizes that such allegations constitute a clear attempt to distort the realities of the region and to deflect attention from the destabilizing policies of the United States and the Zionist regime.

As one of the world’s major exporters of oil and energy, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been prepared to make its energy resources available to all countries, including the Republic of India. What has held the global energy market hostage over recent years has been the unlawful and unjust sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran’s oil exports; sanctions that have been designed and enforced in violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, with the aim of exerting economic pressure on the Iranian nation.

Oil sanctions represent only a small part of the broader pattern of hostile measures and pressures that the U.S. government has imposed on the Iranian people over the past 47 years. These measures have even included pharmaceutical sanctions and restrictions on Iranian patients’ access to essential medicines and vital medical equipment, which have regrettably endangered the lives of many innocent patients and caused widespread human suffering.

The Islamic Republic of Iran further underlines that what is currently disrupting and threatening maritime security and the passage of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz are the military, provocative, and adventurist actions of the United States and the Zionist regime in the region. These two regimes are the principal drivers behind the escalation of global security and energy crises and seek to advance their political and military objectives through the creation of instability and insecurity.

With regard to the claims made by the U.S. Secretary of State concerning Iran’s nuclear program, the Islamic Republic of Iran once again recalls that, as a committed member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), it has consistently declared that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful and remains under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The IAEA itself has thus far neither observed nor reported any diversion in Iran’s nuclear activities.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology to be the legitimate and inalienable right of its people and emphasizes that it will never relinquish this lawful and internationally recognized right.

There is no doubt that the Iranian nation, through its courageous resistance and historic steadfastness in the face of aggression and pressure by the United States and the Zionist regime, has emerged as the true victor of this unequal war. The United States and the Zionist regime launched military aggression against our country with the objective of changing the political system of the Islamic Republic of Iran; however, not only did they fail to achieve their objectives, but they were ultimately compelled, following a clear and humiliating defeat, to seek a ceasefire.

Today, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran remain in full readiness and, alongside the great Iranian nation, stand prepared to respond with strength, authority, and determination to any act of aggression or threat against the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the country.

🚨BREAKING: Iran has submitted a new proposal through regional mediators to end the U.S. war, according to a senior Iranian official who spoke to Drop Site News, while Trump reportedly weighs launching new strikes as soon as this weekend.

The proposal splits negotiations into two tracks:

➤ Track 1: End the war first.
Iran wants a formal declaration ending the war, an end to the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports, and the release of frozen Iranian assets before broader nuclear negotiations begin.

In exchange, Iran would provisionally reopen the Strait of Hormuz, waive transit fees temporarily, and allow maritime traffic to resume while a new “governance regime” for Hormuz is finalized.

Iran is also demanding a compensation mechanism funded by the U.S. and other countries involved in attacks on Iran to pay for damages inside Iran, along with an end to Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

➤ Track 2: Nuclear negotiations after the war ends.
Iran says it would:
• Suspend enrichment above 3.6% for 10 years
• Dilute uranium enriched above 20% under supervision inside Iran
• Commit not to develop a nuclear weapon

In return, Iran wants:
• Recognition of its right to enrich uranium
• Limited enrichment rights preserved under a future agreement
• Full sanctions relief

The Trump administration reportedly wants the war-ending deal and nuclear agreement finalized simultaneously, while continuing to insist Iran cannot keep enriched uranium. Iran says that demand remains a major obstacle.

Iranian officials also warned Tehran is preparing for escalation if attacks resume, including potential strikes on U.S. interests and bases beyond West Asia, as well as Gulf energy infrastructure and naval assets, alongside possible coordination with regional allies to disrupt shipping in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
