@CTVMorningStoon @JanellaCTV @yxeCoop Treated lumber is carcinogenic and really shouldn't be used for growing food. Here is the relevant information from the Safety Data Sheets for some of the products sold at the Home Centre.
@yxeCoop This is the data sheet to the ACQ treated lumber carried by Saskatoon Co-op, (same price as the cedar I just purchased from our competitors)

less bad but still has carcinogens.
Warning to my fellow @yxecoop members planning to build garden boxes this year. Saskatoon Co-op has replaced their food safe cedar lumber products with treated lumber that contains known carcinogens & other hazardous toxins. Management said they did it because it's cheaper. #yxe
@yxeCoop Toxins and hazards 100% accurate.

Chalk full of toxins and known carcinogens
@Partunia @Sask_CaGBC @CaGBC @shiftresto completely unacceptable to be so insensitive to peoples personal/spiritual/religious beliefs & that horrible attitude could be potentially deadly to people with extreme allergies. Plus it's 2018 there is always a vegetarian option, especially at a green building conference
Only negative from @Sask_CaGBC and @CaGBC#BSG2018 was how @shiftresto unethically and deceptively fed meat to vegetarians and did not give AF for doing so
@Partunia @Sask_CaGBC @CaGBC @shiftresto when I went to get some desert the potato dish was refilled with beef, potatoes & green beans. Since I was later in-line first time around, slabs of meat were already taken. Staff then said potatoes and beans are vegetarian & thought it was no big deal to just pick out the meat
@Partunia @Sask_CaGBC @CaGBC @shiftresto Out of 4 options for lunch 3 were clearly seafood, one was potatoes and green beans. I asked the staff if the potato dish was vegetarian, they said yes, I also specifically asked if the sauce was vegetarian, no beef or chicken stock they said yes.
Highlight #3 from @Sask_CaGBC and @CaGBC#BSG2018 and probably one of the best things I have been involved with at a conference was @ucalgary Adam Stoker's IDEAJam! So great to collaborate, challenge, innovate and potentially solve real issues with the industry colleagues
Highlight #2 from @Sask_CaGBC and @CaGBC#BSG2018 was Dr. Ernie Walker's history and future vision of @Wanuskewin_Park. We are so lucky to have people with the vision to preserve the empty space and have such an amazing historical/cultural wonder in our city.
Thanks @Sask_CaGBC and @cabgc for a great #BSG2018. Highlight #1 @charlieclarkyxe opening address, it's amazing to have a mayor who gets it. The future of #yxe really looks bright with leadership that understands the complex problems, creating positive change & enabling solutions
I feel if Rob Dumont heard the bow down to big oil speech given tonight at his gala he would immediately rattle off solid research data, personal anecdotes and facts to counter the entire thing
@gq_in_sk @SaskatoonCycles haven't had the pleasure yet, but friends made the trek last Saturday and I hear the cycle track connecting to the bridge from evergreen is pretty awesome.
SK Illegal truck mods:
- front bumper >750mm
- centre of headlights >1400mm
- fenders do not properly cover tires
I know each of these result in a $100 fine, but was told violating one of them result in a vehicle being immediately taken off the road.
If so which one @SGItweets?
@SGItweets In conversations with SGI vehicle inspection staff, they said one of them was a mandatory removal from the road, I just can't remember which, I think it was headlights. MS can you please confirm that having headlights higher than 1400mm = mandatory removal from the road. Thanks.
