Whitman-Hanson volleyball defeats Abington 3-0 (25-22, 24-14, 25-7) in their non-league match. Junior Andrea Mulligan played strong with 7 kills and 4 blocks alongside Senior Captain Bailey Kelly who had 4 kills and 2 blocks- Junior Captain Caroline Gray also had 7 kills. Gray led the team in assists while Junior Bella Miniutti and Sophomore Leah Barnett contributed 7 collectively. Defensive specialists Senior Captain Riley Codero, Senior Alyson Tobias, and Junior Ava Fornaciari each tallied 1 kill helping the Panthers keep their lead. Juniors Hazel Carew and Sophie Ennis each had 5 kills while Junior Brianna Eddy had 2- Ennis also led the team in aces with 4. Also having aces were Gray, Codero, Fornaciari, Senior Mackenzie Flynn, and Sophomore Madalyn Morris. Codero, Tobias, Barnett, and Senior Alyssa Barbato each tallied digs, keeping the back half of the court secure alongside Junior Franny Ruffini. Tonight’s win was a total team effort and closed out the Panthers regular season. Whitman-Hanson finishes 15-5 overall and 11-5 in the league. They are now awaiting post season seedings
Whitman-Hanson volleyball defeated Scituate 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-23) in their league match. Senior Captain Riley Codero helped lead the Panthers to victory in the first set with a service run that ultimately resulted in their win in overtime. Codero also played well defensively with 9 digs. Junior Captain Caroline Gray set the pace of the game with 15 assists alongside Sophomore Leah Barnett who tallied 11. Gray also led the team in kills with 12. Junior Hazel Carew had a crucial kill in the third set, giving the Panthers possession of the ball and ending Scituate‘s run. Whitman-Hanson is now 14-4 overall and 11-4 in the league. They are back in action on Wednesday when they face Plymouth South and celebrate their Senior Night.

Senior Captain Riley Codero helped keep the Panthers secure defensively while also tallying a kill. The team is now 13-4 overall and 10-4 in the league. They are back in action on Monday when they face Scituate.

Senior Captain Bailey Kelly was aggressive at the net with 5 kills and blocks while fellow Senior Captain Riley Codero helped defend the back half of the court with 8 digs. The Panthers are now 12-4 overall and 10-4 in the league. They are back in action tomorrow when they face Abington.
